Incidentally, I found another lovely and obvious in retrospect advantage to UMD ripping. Namely, not only does this extend the life of the UMD drive as it isn't being used as often, it also uses far less battery life powering those motors and that laser. So I get faster load times AND improved battery life in one fell swoop. I gotta say the homebrew scene just gets better and better.
