There are NO levels of sales that will make the PS3 turn a profit, because it costs more to make it than they are selling it for.

That's kingergarden math if they think "well if we sell MORE then maybe...".

The PS2 was sold at a loss as well, but it turned a good profit. The reason for this was that it achieve a high enough market penetrations to sell huge amounts of games in all three major territories. My point being, that if the PS3 only sells 30-40 million units in its lifetime there's no way it can sell enough games to turn a profit.
