ABF, Burnout 3 happens to be one of the few original XBox games designed to use custom soundtracks. In other words, it was "meant to be played" with whatever's on the disk.
I see your argument, I like a "pure" experience too, but Oblivion helped me get over that. I've replaced pretty much every single texture in that entire game with super high resolution more detailed versions (thanks to a person named Qarl, or something like that), and I just can never go back. The game just looks so much better, and also Natural Environments and a billion other visual tweaks that make the game just look way way better than it originally did, and the game started out looking pretty amazing anyway.
Nothing wrong with altering a game to your liking if you find a problem.
