"Popular" character or ad campaign in Britain or something like that, I believe... I first heard about it on YakYak... (the Llamasoft forum, with mostly UK members)
As for Archon, the mention of the ZX Spectrum (a computer only popular in England) leads me to believe that this developer is likely British... maybe not, but why else the Spectrum reference? Gamespot US just thought of it?
