I dunno about comparing him to Favre. Favre was an all-time great, not because of his yards and TD passes exactly, but because he was good enough to carry some below-average teams beyond where they should have gone. I can't remember any season where Favre held his team back (except in 05, but that whole team sucked). Grossman has been playing long enough to where he should be able to at least play with confidence and exhibit better decision-making.
I would give him one more year, but with pressure. Next year will be his fifth, injuries notwithstanding. It should be impressed upon him that he needs to play up to the level of his teammates. Vince Young was mentioned before, and he's a good example of what I mean; he wasn't that great a quarterback, actually pretty poor if you look at just numbers (he had one of the worst passer ratings among starting QBs), but he was a leader, played fantastically in the clutch, and single-handedly willed the Titans to at least four or five more victories than the team deserved to get.
