Yeah, they weren't lying. They were talking only about American sales, and restricted the sales period to not count all DSes sold before the PSP came out and to not include most of the bump from the DS Lite... :)
It is true though that the PSP isn't getting blown away here like it is in Japan. It's only losing by like 5.8 million to 5 million... though the DS'es lead is growing quickly now that the Lite has done well. Nowhere near as well as Japan (in the US it's like 250,000 a month, in Japan like 150,000 a week...), but well.
