Though to be fully honest, they aren't saying it should be illegal, but they do seem to be saying it's wrong anyway. I think they are saying that if you did that you should feel really bad and they hate you.
Still pretty stupid.
On the up side, despite what he says about imports, MS disagrees because the 360 has no region coding restrictions, which is a first for a home console (though every single handheld I've ever used, from GB to DS and PSP, has the same region free nature to it). Further, Sony has also stated there will be no regional restrictions for games on the PS3. Nintendo has so far remained silent on the issue, but I hope they make for a fully import friendly generation (PCs have never had region restrictions for games, that I'm aware of) by making the Wii region free as well. For that matter, I wonder a few things regarding backwards compatibility. Is the 360 region free when emulating XBox games? Will the PS3 be region free as regards old PS2 and PS1 games? If Nintendo does make the Wii region free, will that also apply to Gamecube games? (Not that the GCN required real modding to get it to be region free, but it did require buying a special disk for the job.)
These are questions I'd like to know the answer to. I'm also looking into some sort of Matrix style tech for imbuing our brains with all languages so that translators everywhere die in a pit of despair and hatred for all technology.
