KotOR's save files actually start small and gradually grow. I've got 48 saves, including the autosave and quicksave, and the smallest (save "0002", after auto and quick) is just 880KB... but they gradually grow and grow and grow. Checking, I was wrong... my largest save is 15MB (I wasn't quite at the end though, but it was quite far in). Still, that 450MB total for all of them is accurate, as is how rapidly the stupid things grow...
I'd finish the game, but it'd require me freeing up 4+GBs of harddrive space (needed some, so I had to delete something big, and this was it...), and I can't see any way of doing that.
There is no reason for F-Zero GX to do this either, it's just cruel... :( I never need to change GC memory cards except when I want to play F-Zero, when I have to switch them. It's a pain.
