Well, I think that proves it. Twilight Princess is going to be the greatest game ever.

Or of this year, at least.

Game of show eh? That's impressive, considering all we saw was a new video :D.
I kid I kid, a little skepticism is all I'm applying. That way when I play it not expecting it to be the best thing since catnip, it IS, and I'm blown away. But yeah, from what I've seen, I'm as excited for this Zelda game as I've ever been.

Um, DJ, it was playable you know...

Playable, but incomplete.

It's a demo. Meant to be played for just a short time. You need to keep that line moving, you know... :) (and even so, at its longest I read that it reached four hours...)
26th May 2005, 3:31 PM
You are an idiot if you think you can get an idea of the game from just a demo!
Um, sorry, I seem to be making up for a lack of a certain element around here... What I meant to say was, okay that's impressive. I still have a healthy bit of doubt, but that's just as a protective mechanism more than anything.

What do you think the Game of E3 is supposed to be? Companies hardly ever show completed games there.

26th May 2005, 8:34 PM
I don't think we should bother picking a game of E3 to be honest :D.

Um... the best way to get an idea of what a game is, without buying it or before it comes out, is a demo. It's a great way to learn how a game is! The whole POINT of demos is to give you an idea of how the game plays, etc...
Quote:Um, sorry, I seem to be making up for a lack of a certain element around here... I don't understand what you have against demos, or picking a best game of E3... these people have gone around and seen all the big titles, and they shouldn't be allowed to choose which one they think was best? ![]()

I think perhaps you overestimate my resolve.
What I am trying to say is I still have some skepticism, that's it! To that extent I don't think it's wise to rate a game as though it's already complete. That's all. From there, you have read into it that I have a problem with demos. I don't! I play them too! I think I can enjoy a demo and see some promise and still be skeptical. It's not a black and white issue. I think what I'm getting at is this. Don't read anything into what I say. I only meant what I said. I wasn't trying to infer anything else.

Quote:I think perhaps you overestimate my resolve. Um, okay, but what are you skeptical about? You aren't explaining the WHY, just the what...
26th May 2005, 9:36 PM
If you asked "what", maybe it IS the what I didn't explain eh? :D
I'm skeptical, to a small extent, regarding how fun the game might be. What reason do I have for this? It's just my basic way of handilng game news. No matter how good it seems, until I play it I never know if it's all that good. By being skeptical about it instead of being completely hyped, I lower the chances I'll be let down. I have a healthy skepticism in that I am not certain if the game world is really as vast as they claim, or if the puzzles will be as hard as I would like. But, that's okay. I still want this game enough that I'll buy it at launch, and then I'll see for myself.

It sounds like it doesn't innovate the series, it just does what has been done really well... isn't that enough?
27th May 2005, 12:26 AM
What do you mean? Enough for what exactly? I basically just said I will hold judgement until I've played the game, but I already know enough to say I want it and will buy it.

Zelda is one of those serieses that you don't need to play to know it's going to be great. :)
27th May 2005, 9:04 AM
Okay, this is the way it is. Zelda: TP won Best of E3 because it's demo was considered better than the demos of other games. It's really that simple.
Sometimes you get the scorpion.

Yes. And DJ is overthinking things, like usual. :)

IGN is stupid, forget them... but everyone else agrees that Zelda: TP is game of the show. :)
30th May 2005, 6:45 PM
....yes I know...
I'm just giving my opinion on the value of it and making it clear that I am saving my final judgement for when the game comes out. That's not weird, it's common sense.

You really thought I was serious when I said that it was a sure thing that Twilight Princess would be the best game ever after hearing that it won Best of E3?

TROLL.
30th May 2005, 7:00 PM
wait, what did IGN say was best of show?
30th May 2005, 7:12 PM
Spore.
I'll agree that Spore is probably going to be pretty cool, but come on, Zelda, people.
Sometimes you get the scorpion.
30th May 2005, 7:37 PM
Yes. Some ones at IGN lost their minds, I think... :)
DJ: it's Zelda! You don't need to question it like you do with most games! Just by being Zelda you know it'll be fantastic...
30th May 2005, 7:54 PM
I was only saying what I did to make myself clear, not to debate anyone.
WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS? You were SUPPOSED to say "oh, I misunderstood" and we were all to get on with our lives!

I didn't post here again to continue talking about that, I posted to say 'IGN is stupid for not giving Zelda GOTS'... :)

A better answer, then?
"Because questioning Zelda goes against all that we, as Nintendo fans, stand for." There, that better? :)

IGN gave best of show to Spore?
