This also looks great. MUCH better art direction than the first game.

Yeah, the artwork in the first game was pretty bad, compared to either Paper Mario title... that's my biggest problem with it. So how does it look this time?

Those work... it looks alright. Not as good as Paper Mario, but nice... the backgrounds are great. Character art isn't quite as good.

Yes. But Mario and Luigi themselves look not much better than they did on GBA.

The animation should be awesome, just like the last game.

This actually seems to be the same art style, only better realized. Mario and Luigi was great except that it was way too blocky. Most people like it anyway.

The background art is much, much better than the first game's. Different style. Different enough.

Is that Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi attacking as a team? Time paradox!

I hope this game can keep the same level of humor seen in the last M&L and Paper Mario. Also, I want the return of the Italian gibberish! A doodie potato!

    I love italian gibberish!

Anyway, what is up with that anyway? I mean, I know Mario doesn't really make sense, but at least it's stuff that ain't stupid :D. What I mean is, what are baby versions of Mario and Luigi doing there? Did they turn from past versions of Mario and Luigi to seperate CHARACTERS or something? :D I'm thinking there IS a time paradox. Imagine this. The space onion decends upon the mushroom kingdom intent on ruling the world by the power of smell. The entire kingdom is crying uncontrollably, including Mario and Luigi, BUT WAIT! The space onion accidently rips space/time a new one and Baby Mario and Baby Luigi show up! They somehow are immune, so it's up to Mairo and Luigi to defeat the onion with... baby power... or something...

Okay that's not the story at all... but it would be awesome if it was.

The game does look a tad nicer, but I'm just glad to see there's a sequel to one of my favorite GBA games. I might have to finally spring for a DS soon.

A "tad" nicer? Bubba, there's a world of difference.

    M&L:

    M&L 2:

So much more rich and vibrant. The artists outdid themselves, they really did.

They really should have put some attention into the characters, though. They've still got that same not-so-great art style... Paper Mario is so much better! But yeah, the backgrounds look great.

Yeah the PM character style is better, but at least M&L has terrific character animations.

Looks like one of those games involving time travel to the past, with Mario and Luigi having to protect their baby selves from some villains who are attempting to kill them in the past with this whole time paradox cliched theme. But I'm sure it will make for good gameplay.
