    Yes, online.

    I can't believe this surprised you. We knew that Rev would be online, and we knew that there would be another SSB. It's great to get an official confirmation, but I knew this would happen.

    I'd be exicted if they showed a demo reel, or maybe even a damn screenshot.

    I would rather have Mario Kart Online for Rev, but this is a close second.

    I'm 100% positive that we will see Mario Kart online for Rev. In the meantime, enjoy the DS game online. :)

    OB1, you're not happy that Nintendo finally confirmed what we'd all be hoping for for months or even YEARS? Also, it shows that Nintendo is really committed to bringing gamers online. I think that counts for something.

    Of course I'm happy, but this is not news to me. I expected to see at least a little demo reel of Rev games at the show, or maybe some indication of the revolutionary aspect of the system.

    One theory: Nintendo figured that anything they did would be completely overshadowed by Sony [and possibly MS as well], so they're planning on opening up Space World '05 for the break-out party.

    This still pisses me off. I would hate to have to wait until Spaceworld, especially now that I've given up a lot of hope that the Rev will not, in fact, be a revolution.

    If they release that information too early, MS and Sony will copy them. You know that's what they were thinking!

    Anyway, even if we did know RIGHT NOW why the Revolution gets it name, we'd still have to wait over a year for it to be released. *knowing is half the battle, though!!*

    If it's something like a unique controller the competition can't exactly copy them so soon. They could at least tell us that the revolutionary stuff is yet to come. I feel so crushed right now.

    No they didn't. They just said that they would show it to use "later".

    I'm with both of you here: while a confirmed SSB online Revolution game is great news, I was still hoping for more. It's at least nice to know for certain that it exists, though, not to mention as a launch title.

    Of course, SSB: Melee was slated as a launch title too, wasn't it? It was released a month or so after GC's launch, though, so that's at least close.

    I'll be sorely disappointed with Nintendo if these are the big guns to revolutionize the industry that they've been hyping us up about. The console doesn't deserve the title "Revolution", unless there's something extremely innovative about their next controller. Please, Nintendo, don't hit a new low in shamelessness.

    I'll bet they do. Yes, it's a little early to make judgments, but honestly, if they were going to report something huge, I think they would have done it by now.

    Well lets just say a little birdie told me.

    Apparently Nintendo is doing this all in the name of hype. Did you see the Metroid Prime 3 shots in the video? It was quick and odd but apparently that's from a longer video that either shows more of Metroid Prime 3 or perhaps other Rev games. The fact is that Revolution is a full year away, probably more. And Nintendo wants people to stay focused on GC and the handhelds before all eyes and attention are on Rev. The pre-3 conference was a pat on the back for GC to get the info out there that GC isn't dead and Nintendo knows what they're doing. Nintendo showed alot of confidence with GC, with Zelda backing everything up.

    It only makes sense that you would show your masterpiece game that is soaking every ounce of GC's power to make beautiful graphics and leave a nice gap before you show your next gen graphics that will either match it or blow it away. Nintendo needs hype for Zelda right now, not next gen hardware. They just need to show people it exists and that the idea of it kicks ass. If they showed the whole bag of Rev, TP would have been a yawn fest and swept under the rug quickly by consumers more interested in the next gen hardware (and more importantly, pics and videos)

    What Nintendo is doing is extremely smart, it's called pacing yourself and i've never seen it done so boldly. With an entire week to go, and with all eyes on all 3 major companies with their current gen and next gen in a grey area, Nintendo is definitely playing the table and holding an ace waiting for the right moment to show, I think.

    Nintendo may opt, as suck as it is, to not show Rev at all in the hopes of gaining more hype towards current gen. Hardcore XBox and PS2 fans are pre-ordering Zelda right now, that's fucking huge and it's great news for Nintendo. They use E3 as a platform to push current gen and wait a few weeks/months to show off Rev. It's a possible scenario, one tht even makes sense; But Nintendo knows what we want, and they're pulling our strings for a reason.

    Bah, I want my damn Rev demo reel. I really hope they show it before E3 is over...

    Nintendo does need to get people exicted about the Rev, especially after Sony's amazing PS3 presentation. And the PS2 still has tons of big games coming out this year, so it's no different for them than it is for Nintendo. Well, almost. They don't have Zelda. But nothing can destroy the excitement over Zelda. That game is playable at the show. A couple-minute long Rev demo reel would not diminish the excitement over Zelda.

    Also... that bastard Reggie promised that Mario 128 would be at E3. I hate Nintendo for pulling all of this stuff from the show.

    Yes, patience... it's a little annoying, but really, it's not THAT bad. And lazy makes a good point about Revolution taking away from the GC... I know, MS and Sony have big upcoming titles too, but Nintendo looks at things differently and from their perspective this makes sense. And they've said something, so it's not nearly as bad as if we knew nothing... it's just screenshots. We'd look at them and say 'yea' or 'nay', and go on... and it's a year away.

    Now, I want information before next E3, that's for sure... and I wish Nintendo wasn't this secretive. But they are, and we should all be used to it by now.

    Nintendo tried with with the GC, remember? And look how well that worked. People are talking about these systems, and word is slowly getting out to the mainstream. Nintendo cannot afford to be out of the equation for long like last time.

    When did Nintendo have Spaceworld? Wasn't around August or something like that? If so, it would provide the perfect opportunity to fully unveil the Revolution. The GC gets in last day in the sun and the Revolution is revealed without having to compete directly with Sony and MS.

    I was neither surprised nor did it seems completely expected. What it was to me was confirmation. I had my doubts considering Nintendo's decades long history of how they deal with online (yes, they've been abandoning it since the Famicom :D). I just wanted some proof Nintendo really was going to stick with the online thing. I dreaded hearing "Super Smash Bros coming to Revolution, and online games to follow" because well, that's what they have DONE. Them stating right now that yes, this SPECIFIC title is online is the sort of thing that gives me great confidence I'll be struggling against GR's onslaught in a matter of THIS YEAR!

    Yeah, I was thinking that under 'just marketing speak'... as in, nice for some developers, but little impact on the general public (except as another bullet on the list!). We'll have to see.

    I know the GC online games aren't from Nintendo, but one was released, and then ... nothing ...

    We'll see with DS. Will it become common or a rare exception? That might be a good clue for if the Revolution's online mode will go anywhere.
