I didn't see this posted here anywhere so...

I know Nintendo's trying to make this fit well into home entertainment shelves, but damn. It shouldn't have to look like a sleek computer CD-ROM drive.

Oh, and also from that article:

Quote:Revolution appears to be the confirmed final title for the machine

Again, sorry if this has already been posted. I haven't looked around in every single thread yet.

The console is sleek, shiny, and sexy. I'm very satisfied with the look. Blows away even the PS3 design, IMO.

I dunno. Maybe it'll grow on me like the Gamecube did. At least it's much smaller and in better form. But where are the sexy curves? I want curves, damnit!

I do. I like big butts and I cannot lie.

Anyway, I'd like to see a nice shiny, light silver color of Revolution. Since Nintendo likes their products to come in a variety of colors, perhaps there will be one. That's sexier than black ANYDAY.

edit: darn you ABF for butting in! =P

I loved the N64's look. GC is more 'okay' but not great. This looks... I don't know. Modern art-like, I guess. Like modern tech. Maybe some curves would be nice, but this isn't bad either...

If it weren't so small then it would be boring and tired, but since it is so tiny then it's adorable and sexy.

Curves are passe. Sleek straight lines are the new style, and I like it. Curves make it hard to fit things in places anyway. Straight lines and rectangular shapes make it a lot easier to stack and otherwise place things in your entertainment center. You just can't stack the N64, because the shape is just plain awkward (well, also it's top loading). So long as it doesn't have pointy bits that could slash your hand, that's all I need.

Mapel said she thought it was too small...

... yeah, that doesn't make much sense, does it... consoles can be too small? I guess if you are thinking 'it needs to be larger to fit in better parts so a small one can't be as powerful' (which is true, most of the time)... but Nintendo knows how to do these things. Cube is almost as powerful as X-Box, after all, and is a whole lot smaller...

Ah, but anyway, I like the Revolution's design. It's compact and looks very portable. Slap a LCD screen on the top and you've got your own personal DVD Player/Cool Game Player.

Nintendo said that they will be selling a device that lets is play dvds movies. Why it can't play them already is beyond me. Maybe a remote like the XB?

Yeah, there only thing it would need is the programming code.

The only reason it wouldn't do it out of the box is just like why MS did that thing, as OB1 said. That reason, for those who forgot, is that MS didn't want to pay the DVD consortium for every single XBox sold. So, they just shifted the cost to the cost of the DVD remote and "unlocker" device, so they could easily say "the system doesn't play DVDs without this", which was technically true. Nintendo is likely doing the same thing. They just cut the costs to the DVD Empire away from the revolution and TO the DVD playback kit (which I won't be getting because I already have like 3 DVD players without even going to the store to get one, and one is in my computer, so it has as many features as whatever playback program I use has), so ONLY those who want to play DVDs need to pay the cost.

Of course, Sony is willing to bite the bullet and take the price on themselves because, well, they know their targets :D.

No OB1's right. Saying it MIGHT happen and confirming it as an absolute are two very different things.

Anyway, there actually is a point where things can get "too small", but that's at the level of it being the size of a button or something else you can't possibly keep track of. Basically if it's at the mercy of the whims of the wind, it's too small.

I gotta say though... I'm not too happy about the logo. The two discs thing doesn't work.

Also, it looks like you have to turn the system upside down to get the controller ports right side up. Haha. No problem, just plug them in upside down. Kinda weird, though.

That thing looks like my cable modem when I think about it, only even sleeker. If I brought that into an office of some sort and sat it next to the server, no one would suspect a thing.

And um, it would appear it has a lot of ports. Hmm. I was suspecting you'd need to use the revolution's controller to play GCN games, meaning the layout would be similar. As for memory, I thought it would just be in the system, meaning all your old save files are stuck in your old system :D. This is much better, at least I can transfer over all my save files.

Yeah, cable modem is another comparison... it doesn't look like a console, that's for sure. Interesting design choice.

Hmm.. GC controller ports, cool. And are those GC memcard ports, or are they SD ports? Probably GC memcards... what does the Revolution save on? Something that fits in those ports? SD cards? It can't just use that small internal harddrive...

Okay, with these new pics I have now changed my mind. Revolution's design has really grown on me, and I can, dare I say it, admit its sexiness. Now disreguard the title of this topic. :)

Can anyone give me a LOT of info about the storage medium for this thing? I'd like to know how big the internal memory is (the hard drive). I mean, they said you'd be able to download SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE, so it would need to be big. Also, can it be removed and replaced with a new one later on?

There is no HDD. Just 512MB of internal flash memory, with an added SD card port. :S

And you can't d/l GC games. Only NES, SNES, and N64 ones.

    That's it? Mistake!

512 MB... not exactly... steller... This is akin to back in "the day" when the Sega Saturn would have internal RAM that was pathetic.

I suggest a major boost. They do still have time to do that I'd say. Either a laptop sized HD shoved up that thing's tail pipe or include a several gig memory card. The latter is expensive, very. So, a hard drive.

But, I get ahead of myself here.

There's a lot of info to wade through, so could you ALSO tell me the storage medium the PS3 and 360 are using? Is the 360 including the HD out of the box or is it like the rumor said, an add-on you have to buy?
