this has been a topic for centuries amongst all people of the earth. with the sopposed unannouced capture of Osama bin ladin and the coming 2nd gulf war do you think we can all shake hands and sing Combyah?:)

World peace will probably never be possible, because there will always be people who for some reason or another want to cause trouble.

Sure it's possible. Simply eliminate all human life and the world will be at peace. I propose doing this via creating a giant nanotech based robot with three theoretical capabilities (self recovery, self multiplication, and self evolution) to destroy all human life.

As for world peace, um unless the world becomes a dictatorship on the level of Soviet Russia, I very much doubt that... its just not human nature. Unfortunately.

Hardly, this machine wouldn't be intelligent at all. It would be quite without free will, otherwise they would just replace us as the fighting things.

The only way world peace will be possible is if, as Dark Jaguar said, the entire human race is wiped off the face of the Earth. But since that probably won't be happening anytime soon, I think it's safe to say that the answer is no.
