That's dumb. Hopefully they use the extra time to make the game even better.

While we're on the topic of delays: Wario World also fell victim and got pushed back till June, I think.

Maybe they'll add in a track editor and finally give it a name. I sincerely hope that F-Zero GC isn't the final name.

That stinks... I'm looking forward to that game so badly (its easily the game I want most after TWW...)... :( Its hardly unexpected (remember when it was coming out in January or February or something?), but it still stinks...

So we have Zelda in March, then F-Zero in August. That's a five month gap between their big releases. So what do GC-only owners have to play in between that time?

    *sigh*

Nintendo fucks up again. Reminds me of this PA strip:

So true, so true. I wish they'd spread out their releases some more instead of releasing most of them during the holiday season.

maybe there'll be some new games announced soon to be released between zelda and F-Zero...and hopefully some third party offerings worth taking a look at.

    No idea.

Actually there are several big 3rd party games coming out during the summer, so GC gamers aren't left without anything.

I'd never trust Nintendo.com's release dates... they aren't exactly the most up to date ones...

Oh, and this is NINTENDO. Since when do they NOT have months between big releases?

Umm...the reason why Nintendo.com's release date is important is because Nintendo.com is IGN's source. If the news came from anywhere else, I would simply assume that Nintendo is slow in updating its site. But Nintendo was the one to make the statement in the first place. In effect, Nintendo is retracting it's original statement. Of course, this doesn't rule out any future delays. In fact, this could be a premature "slip" like Marionette during E3 2001.

Someone at N-Philes' forums was actually the first one I noticed who saw the changed release dates. The fact that the F-Zero date has been changed back is interesting, though.

IGN doesn't get their info from Nintendo.com. They didn't break the Metroid Prime story by checking out that site. They have their own sources.

Although if they said that they got this release date info from Nintendo.com, that would be a different matter.

Nintendo.com was the source of this story. The release dates at there site were different over the weekend, but have been changed back now.

I certainly hope they list their sources.

Anyway, looks like we have a thread about nothing. On that note, where's my ROB?

OB1- sometimes I don't know if you're actually reading the news story. I was saying that, for this story, Nintendo.com was IGN's source. Sorry for not making that ABSOLUTELY CLEAR.

To restate, here is a qoute from IGN's news item:

Quote:March 10, 2003 - According to the official Nintendo website, the company has decided to spread out its GameCube release calendar by delaying two of its biggest 2003 titles: F-Zero and Wario World.

Because Nintendo.com is the source of all of this commotion, it is reasonable to believe that the reinstated Nintendo.com dates are the correct ones. However, as I stated before, that could have been an accidental slip.

I thought you meant that IGN gets all of their info from Nintendo.
