Actually, DS stands for Drill Sergeant. You see Nitendo's getting tired of the belief that Nintendo games are for kids and they decided that the brand name "Game Boy" wasn't helping them get rid of that image. So for their next handheld they decided to call it the Drill Sergeant [or DS for short] so that when people hear it they will think of in your face action that doesn't let up.

that'd be a fun use of voice recognition.

That's not exactly an easy thing to punch in, as anyone who's ever actually done the jump rope quest in FF9 can tell you (I HATE JUMP ROPES!).

Anyone remember a Drill Sergent flash animation made some time ago? It was one of those AI's designed to respond to what you tell it. The guy was hlarious. "Bill Gates? Yeah I remember Bill... we had E's where i went to school. and E was failing, they did away with F's because they screamed FAILURE and that was inappropriate...or something.
