Paper Mario 2?

Paper Mario 2 In Development?

Recent rumors coming out of Nintendo Europe have positioned a GameCube sequel to the Nintendo 64's Paper Mario for some time next year.

Presumably, it should be complete and ready to hit retail some time by the the second quarter of the year. While this is certainly welcome news, this may quash any expectations of a Mario/RPG collaboration between Nintendo and Square-Enix. (wj)

Wow, that would be awesome, but I doubt it's true. First of all, q2 ends in July. If it's coming out so soon then why didn't Nintendo show it off at E3? I suppose it's just Nintendojo reporting false information again.

If it was coming out so soon we probably would have seen something of it by now, but maybe Nintendo wants to surprise peope!*

That would be cool... but extremely unlikely, given the existance of Mario and Luigi...

Well it is possible, although I'm sure the release date is false. Intelligent Systems made Paper Mario, and they have yet to make a Gamecube game. And they're not making Mario & Luigi.

I thought they were talking about Quarter 2 of next year. It's confusing, but the first sentence says it will be out next year. Still, I wonder about it.

We already heard about Mario and Luigi. I'd be surprised (though not totally) to see them make 2 new Mario RPG games. Also, why call it Paper Mario 2? Is it supposedly using the same graphical style? Remember this as well, in Japan Paper Mario was called Mario Story. I have no idea what that last sentence has to do with this, but I said it anyway.

Anyway, a GCN and a GBA game both for the Mario RPG series would be great, but even just one for the GBA would be enough for me. Ah, Mario RPGs. I'm certainly glad they made Mario RPG, which I thought would be a one time thing, until they made Paper Mario. Now it's an unnumbered series.

I think its doubtful... it'd be great, since Paper Mario was a really good game... but doubtful, very doubtful. Especially with the GBA game... though a release next year (and that meaning Q2 '04) would be a LOT more plausible.

Like I said before, the developer of Paper Mario (Iintelligent Systems) is not making Mario and Luigi so it is possible.

Sure, its possible... but I'm not so sure it'll be so soon... Intelligent can only do so much and aren't they working on a bunch of GBA games? Though we don't know what Cube game they are making... this, Cube Wars, Fire Emblem, Earthbound... who knows...
