Please please please please please tell me you're asking about the actual people and not the characters they're dressed as.

I'm not surprised by the question, save for the resident PC gamer nerd not immediately recognizing Carmen Sandiego.

He also collects terrible NES games, so you'd think he would recognize Waldo from one of those Where's Waldo NES games (you know, finding Waldo when you're too lazy to turn the page). Apparently he's called Wally everywhere else. Not sure why they changed it to Waldo here. Wally actually rolls off the tongue a little better. Hmm, here's a solution. Make his last name Waldo (I don't think he ever had a last name before). So now it's like double alliteration. Wally Waldo, I could get into that.

Sorry, I meant the characters. Didn't recognize them on sight. So it's Carmen Sandiego, Waldo, and whoever the person on the left is (is that some Naruto character or something)? Huh. I probably should have been able to guess that, I read and liked the Waldo books as a kid and watched the Carmen Sandiego TV shows sometimes (I thought it was pretty good, too), but oh well... :)

Oh, I know the game was first on PCs, but we didn't actually own any Carmen Sandiego games before the late '90s, and by that point the one we got was far, far too easy for me and I never played it, only my younger sister did. I can only remember playing the older Carmen Sandiego games for a few minutes, maybe, sometime. But as I said I did watch the show sometimes, so I do know the character of course, when reminded... oh, and I don't think I noticed the suitcase. That's a very good clue.

Bah, I don't own that many terrible games... most of the games I get are at least decent. :)

I don't know or care who the guy in the fire rain coat is, but yeah, that's Waldo and Carmen. I'm willing to accept that you somehow didn't recognize their worldwide iconic appearances, but you must admit, that is the PERFECT couple. No people are more famous for being hard to find than they are.

Why though? They're not even from the same series...

... I didn't think of that, even after it was pointed out who they were... :) You're right, though, of course.

I have to figure that's the whole reason those two thought up the costume idea.

That's Naruto in sage mode (which only recently made its appearance in the series).

And yeah, the combination of Waldo (I prefer that name to Wally as it's more unique and therefore more memorable) and Carmen Sandiego is just brillliant. Two elusive vagabonds... both discovered by Naruto! (Well, in sage mode, he has the ability to detect people's presence.)
