I loved all of it, except once he told the truth when he said Penny Arcade is funny. I think they MAY have been insulting Penny Arcade, which is herasy most foul.

No, I agree with that one... Penny Arcade just isn't funny very often. They think they are, but their 'humor' is mostly dumb...

Oh, and the Dewey Defeats Truman one was kind of dumb because of how famous that picture is...

The DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN one was making fun of the media's inaccuracy. In the 1948 election, Harry Truman was running for the Democrats and Thomas Dewey for the Republicans. Everyone thought Dewey would win, and the night before the election ended, a newspaper was printed for the next day declaring Dewey the winner. However, Truman won the election, so the next day, he held the newspaper up and laughed and that famous picture was taken. I make fun of that newspaper all the time because it shows how pathetic the media is.

FINALLY! I've seen that pic about a million times but without knowledge of the history behind it, I never really got it. I'm just glad you actually answered my question instead of calling me a moron. Apparently someone who can't get a straight answer when seeking knowledge is an idiot.

That was never taught in any American history class I took. Then again, they never really bothered teaching anything after the invention of the photograph in those classes... Oklahoma is frickin' poor okay?

Yeah, we have NO state pride, as it's been dropping since one of our fire departments burned down.

You do realize we are going for humor here don't you? Do you go around correcting comedians on TV all the time? When Seinfeld jokes about how stupid it is for the store pharmecy to be elevated 2 inches from the ground, do you go on some rant about how there's a good reason for it? I hope you don't, because that's not the point.

The yellow tint smeared in that Glurge picture is innaccurate; sunflowers may have some tendencies to leave yellow streaks, but by no means can they leave such streaks in the air.

Lumashi (some of you may know her from Cypherstation) tells me about how crappy Oklahoma is all the time. Chuckle

Alabama isn't the best state in the country, but hey, at least we've got electricity!

My history classes haven't been the best either. It seems every year, the school board decides to boost world history up another grade. I'm in 7th grade, learning world history, when the school board decides that 8th graders should learn world history instead. So next year, I'm learning world history again. Then again in 9th grade. Needless to say, I'm sick of world history. Though for 10th and 11th grade, I had American history. Right now, we're in World War II, where we've been most of the semester. We probably won't get much further than the 50's, maybe the 60's, when school ends. Most of what I know from after WWII comes from studying on my own time. Yes, I know, I'm a geek. ;) I also know a lot about the 60's because we had a decades research project, and my decade was the 60's. Groovy.

    Eek Wha--?

Oh, you think I was implying that Oklahoma doesn't have electricity with that quote? Actually, what I meant to imply with that quote is Alabama's not great, but it could be worse.

Praise the lord! We made it to the 50's in history. We skipped the DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN part of the 40's though.

PE coaches don't make very good history teachers, but surely my history teacher should know something about the 50's. He was around back then, and old people tend to remember their childhoods better than five minutes ago.

It's like I always say: they remember 50 years ago like it was yesterday, but they remember yesterday like it was 50 years ago.
