You forgot to put a picture of a cat with that statement.

The conferences are the only thing about E3 that matters at all... :(
... we didn't have a countdown thread, any anticipation threads, any discussions or anything on MSN, nothing... and for good reason. There's no reason to bother when E3 is this irrelevant.

The most important news from E3 (Nintendo-wise)... Fire Emblem Wii has a US release date, finally. :)
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170629 Quote: NINTENDO REVEALS INCOMPARABLE BREADTH OF UPCOMING GAMES FOR WII And the usual Nintendo Press site link... username/password is the same as ever. *starts downloading all files* http://press.nintendo.com/ http://press.nintendo.com/E32007/ Also, Advance Wars DS 2 is coming, at least according to Nintendo Europe... no sign of a US release for the Tingle DS game though, though it's scheduled for Europe as we've known for a while. http://ms.nintendo-europe.com/e32007/enG...elist.html ' I didn't manage to watch the MS or Nintendo conferences (forgot about when they were) but because it was just on I saw the end of the Sony one. New Killzone 2 trailer to end it... oh joy. More bald-ish space marines, just what we needed! I was getting pretty bored just watching the trailer... Sucker Punch's game (Infamous, I think?) sounded interesting, though.

About 100 new Wii games by the end of the year? Nice, sounds like Nintendo is getting better support. I don't care much for the Guitar Hero games, but it's nice that the craze will be brought to a Nintendo platform.
I'm surprised that we haven't heard more about Metroid Prime 3's controls, seeing as how it's coming out next month. I believe I heard somewhere that the controls were reportedly awesome - can anyone back this up? I wish we had some specifics. I'm not sure how I feel about being able to travel between planets. Metroid's always been about claustrophobic corridors on one planet, but it'll probably still be awesome. What's the username and password for Nintendo.com again? And why do we need a zapper and a wheel? They seem like useless add-ons. No matter, as long as the wiimote alone can still be used, I'll be satisfied.

Quote:What's the username and password for Nintendo.com again? The same one that's worked for years now... username golin pw harris, a password so well known across the gaming internet by now that there's no way Nintendo doesn't know that a lot of people know it... I guess they just don't care, given that all it does is lets people download informational pdfs, game trailers, and screenshot packs of Nintendo games. Mentioned here for instance http://www.tcforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2982 , though I think I first heard it from Nintendorks years back... The "Upcoming Games for DS" and "Upcoming Games for Wii" PDFs are probably the most important files in the site... Nintendo's lineup on those lists says a lot... DS -- Mario Party DS Nintendo Magic (name tbd) Professor Layton and the Curious Village (cool puzzle game) Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minuites a Day Zelda - Phantom Hourglass Chibi-Robo - Park Patrol Picross DS Brain Age 2 - More Training in Minuites a Day DK Jungle Climber Nintendo Crossword Wii -- Fire Emblem (hadn't previously had a US release date or English screenshots) Zapper game that will be included with the addon (not on list but it's also coming) Wii Fit (unless this is a renaming of Wii Health) and its pad Mario Kart Wii (online, with wheel addon) Mario Strikers Charged (online) Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption Donkey Kong - Barrel Blast (the racing game, ex-bongos) Battalion Wars 2 Endless Ocean (Forever Blue) Super Mario Galaxy Super Smash Bros. Brawl Random third-party stuff, some that's been mentioned before (though maybe not here) and some new -- Wii -- Super Swing Golf Season 2 (still not online) Madden '08, FIFA '08 - online Cruis'n Bleach Ghost Squad (Zapper game) Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 Dewy's Adventure Soulcalibur Legends Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (X360 download too) DS -new announcements (or new for the US) as far as I know- Advance Wars DS 2 Touch Detective 2 1/2 (:)) Front Mission (for US release) Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command Sonic Rush Adventure -older stuff- Contra 4 (from WayForward) Ninja Gaiden DS N+ FFXII Reventant Wings Heroes of Mana Dragon Quest Monsters Joker Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations And other stuff. There's a lot more for DS than Wii... though the DS has been around longer so that's probably expected. :)

After the last two gens, it's finally good to be a Nintendo fan again!
The only problem is, I KNOW I won't be able to get all of them when they come out :(. Brawl is first and foremost, obviously. Beyond that, I might be able to swing one more and wait till Christmas for others. I loves me some Fire Emblem. Depending on what I see going forward, that could be it. Mario Kart Wii will also be tough to pass up. Damn yuo Nintendo! Nothing for <i>MONTHS</I> and you're going to dump it all on us in the span of two months!?
The Earthworker Race has ended. Everybody wins.

Yeah, I don't have a Wii now and won't anytime soon... as usual I'm making very little this summer... I guess I should be saving up so I can get one later this year, but at this point I just don't care yet for some reason... I've played some Wii (some people I know have the system of course), but... well, I do have a new PC and I just got my DS early this year and have a bunch of stuff for that, and the usual mountain of SNES/Genesis/SCD/PSX/Gamecube/N64 games I got used but haven't gotten around to really playing yet, and (as I have been for two years) once in a while I think of getting a PS2... the problem with the Wii is that as a new console its games are all going to be full price and expensive. I could have gotten one back in January but then I'd have like a half dozen games now instead of a lot more stuff like I've gotten...
... I'll get a Wii sometime for sure, but... hmm. Maybe at Christmastime? I DO want Fire Emblem, badly. A lot more than anything that's out now for the Wii, that's for sure... On another note, I'll probably get Touch Detective 2 1/2 sometime after it came out. The first one was good. Advance Wars DS 2 is also an obvious must-buy...

Online Mario Kart and online Smash Bros. within a few months of each other is going to be too much for me to take. I can see my 360 losing a lot of play time later this year.

Don't get your hopes up for online SSBB. They talked about their online games at E3 and it wasn't mentioned. Now, that doesn't mean it won't be announced later, but...
Sometimes you get the scorpion.
12th July 2007, 6:50 AM
I thought they had announced it already, like 7 times.

12th July 2007, 7:00 AM
They did. They wont go back on it now. Since its first announcement, it was even called SSB: Online, it's been referred to as 'Nintendo's first online game' before soccer was released. So no worries.... no.... worries...
*worries*

I predicted the "SSBB won't be online because Nintendo hates online gaming" thing a long time ago, and it looks more likely than ever now.... though that really should be a bad thing, shouldn't it... :(
14th July 2007, 8:27 PM
True... maybe after putting MK online on the DS they thought that they had to? I don't know... they had to put SOMETHING online so they could pretend that their online policy isn't as totally incompetent as it is and they stuck with Mario Kart?
Hopefully both games will be online, but we'll see...
14th July 2007, 8:42 PM
I mean honestly, with Nintendo saying things like this, how can anyone say Nintendo is actually interested in doing decent online play...
Quote:Forbes.com: Why is it taking so long for Nintendo to make its online game-play system as strong as Sony's or Microsoft's? "Hope" has to be warrented. Blind hope in the face of contradictory or lacking evidence is worse than no hope at all.
