Just got back from the new Muppets movie... the name is a little on the lazy side, but wow this movie was hilarious. It's got all your favo charactos, like Gonzo, Kermit, and 80's Robot.

I heard it was very good as well. Haven't seen it, though. I'm not a big muppets guy, though I'm sure I'd like it if I sat down to watch it.

Yeah, I never was into the Muppets as a kid as far as I can remember, so I don't know how much I'd get out of this...

I was never really into the Muppets, but I was all about Sesame Street.

I think you should give it a chance. They make fun of the 2000's "gritty and cynical" age of reality shows, with the most popular show being "Punch Teacher".

You shall watch it, or die!

Maniacal laaaugh. Maniacal laaaaugh. Maniacal laaaaaugh!

    GR, you disappoint me. :shake:

I mean come on, it has a character called 80's Robot! That's the best thing I ever saw!

When did I say I was going to give it a chance? I fully intend to watch it, either with my family over the Christmas holiday or when it eventually comes out on DVD. Just because I wasn't into it as a kid [mainly because of lack of exposure] doesn't mean I'm not interested.

You didn't say you were going to give it a chance, which is exactly my... oh that was a typo... okay.

Anyway, ever notice that nobody remembers "redeemed" characters for who they became but instead all the bad stuff they did beforehand? Everyone calls people a "scrooge" or a "grinch" forgetting that by the end, those became compliments. It's weird.

The only real thing I know about the movie is that Jim Parsons (Sheldon from Big Bang Theory) is in it. This is a point in it's favor.

Never saw that show. Heard it's some sort of nerd-sploitation series, but I could change my mind.

At any rate, the movie is a musical that's very self aware of itself. This is a huge source of the comedy.

I'm surprised a lot of people here never got exposed to muppets as kids. I always thought the standard progression was to watch Sesame Street and "graduate" to the Muppets later on, especially since back then Kermit was on both shows regularly as some sort of straight man ambassador. Then, considering just how very many movies they had from the 80s through the 90s, I'd think everyone here had seen some of them.

I mean, consider humble Mr. Bimble, a man who lives in Fozzie's finger in Muppet Treasure Island. From the point of that revelation on, his advice is considered suspect.
