Guy gets banned from the Bioware forums by an EA mod because his post had the "report" button clicked and they agreed, he buys Dragon Age 2... can't register or play it until the ban is over. Um, that's really, really not right.

... And what did he say to get banned? "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?"

Yeah, I think you have, Bioware. And the consolized, simpler nature of Dragon Age 2 isn't another possible hint towards the truth of that...

I'll wait for the Dragon Age 2 Ultimate Edition and a Steam sale.

Bioware is free to ban anyone from their forums for whatever reason they want, though in this case it does seem a little unfair, it's within their rights.

    BUT...

They are not free to prevent someone who legitimately purchased a game from playing that game because of a forum ban. Depending on an outside source to activate a game for play is already a little questionable, but if that's the route they decide to go with, they HAVE to provide that activation to anyone and everyone equally.

If this guy has to hack the game to play it, I say more power to them, since it was purchased legally and all.

Yeah, I agree for sure. They're free to ban people from their forum for just about whatever reason they want to, even if it's a really stupid one like this one, but it's absolutely unacceptable to keep someone from playing a game they bought just because of that, the two should be entirely separate!

But yeah, I won't be buying this game anytime soon either.

Bioware is now saying it's a glitch and intend to fix it. Well, at least they consider it a glitch after all the bad press. That's good.
