What did I just watch? Was any of that necessary? Really? It's a cartoon! He got hit in the head! A screaming narrator does NOT need to explain that to us, it doesn't need to be in slow motion, it's just dumb. This is "entertainment" for the reality show generation, just taking stuff that's fully capable of standing on it's own and ruining it by shoving a narrator down it's throat and baking it for half an hour.

... That is real? Seriously? Now that's an easy way to completely ruin a good cartoon, put an incredibly annoying announcer's voice over everything, wrecking the whole thing... :(

I guess that must have been from the time when all things aimed at at the pre-teen audience had to be EXTRREEEEEEMMMMMEEEE for them to pay attention.

I was more offended by how awful the jokes were than by the general insult to a child's intelligence that I more or less expect from children's entertainment.

The announcer's "jokes"? Yeah they're pretty bad. The cartoon itself, a typical Donald Duck "hurting myself doing something supposedly ordinary" cartoon. Point is, the cartoon doesn't need any explaining. What's next? A narrator giving a play by play of a Wily Coyote cartoon?

wow... i guess in terms of filler between shows the actual cartoon was too long, so they condensed it and yeah, added X-TREME to make it more action oriented.

That's pathetic, its also one of my favorite dd cartoons, him and goofy know how to take a beating. The stunts are also much more imaginative in a disney cartoon, not necessarily funnier but add that wow factor. It would have been a more interesting bump if it had, for example, two kids trying to re-create the rubber cement helicopter, end up just getting horribly messy, and donald laughs at them. Then it cuts to donald getting chased by the rubber cement helicopter and strung up, pissed, etc. then the 'kewl disney kids' laugh at donald. At least that wouldn't have destroyed the integrity of the actual cartoon. It would also make a nice bump to do before showing the actual cartoon in its entirety, but I supposed the old shows are considered too slow now.... maybe a face-off between goofey and donald getting beat in a MXC styled competition with an announcer rating who can take the hits better. I dunno. But that was just sad.

This was the "cheapest" way they could do it I guess. Your ideas of a Mythbusters type show with real people making cartoon props is a lot more interesting, but also a lot more expensive.
