I'm creating this thread for two reasons: First, I want to talk about the movie that's coming out on August 23rd. Second, I would like to learn more about the graphic novel that the movie is based on.

When I first heard about the Scott Pilgrim movie, I was not aware that it was based off a graphic novel series that was originally released in 04. Now that the movie is just one month away, I would like to start reading series to get acquainted with the characters and plot. Well, I shouldn't include the plot. The trailers alone have given me a firm understanding of Scott's mission to defeat the seven evil ex-boyfriends of his current love interest, Ramona.

Surprisingly enough, the graphic novel series isn't even finished. The sixth and final chapter in the series comes out tomorrow.

Here's the amazon link to the first chapter of the series:
    http://www.amazon.com/Scott-Pilgrim-Vol-...pd_sim_b_5

And here's the movie trailer link:

The movie stars Micheal Cera (this should not be a surprise), Mary Winstead and Chris Evans.

Overall, the movie looks really good. According to the info that I've read, the movie and novel series have quite a few references to numerous video games series (i.e. Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros., etc.).

    What do you all think?
