Wow... Yep, there's NO WAY George Lucas would ever sell out Star Wars.

People may complain about how aweful those CD-i Zelda games were, and they were, but at the very least we can still say that Miyamoto didn't PERSONALLY oversee those games, or have anything to do with them aside from the woefull mistake of allowing them to use the liscense.

They had a copy of this in a rental store near here, so several years ago I tried renting it... fortunately though the disc was scratched, so I didn't have to watch the whole thing. The failure was fortunate though, from the part I watched... it is indeed every bit as bad as he and everyone else says. Just painful, painful stuff...

this is probably the worst official :starwars: related thing ever on film.

May this be forever the TGWTG thread!

George Lucas did not make the holiday special, His only crime is giving permission to those hacks who did.

Wow. It was more horrible than I imagined. I guess it shouldn't have shocked me, being the 70's and all, but WOW! The whole thing was just a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment, and one that was painful to endure. Even the Nostalgia Critic was barely able to save it... with Santa Christ. :)

And yes, we need a TGWTG thread just as we have an AVGN thread, and I suppose this thread will do fine.

My name is Santa Claus! *007 theme*

By the way, I found nothing on that chick going on a killing spree, so I'm guessing NC just made that one up.

Heh, as a kid I watched a bunch of them. Found them hilarious. Still do kinda. It's a guilty pleasure though. I mean he's like some bizarre redneck idiot savant. Every movie has some new reinvented house of wackiness.

Schwarz-En-Egger means "Black Plough Man" if you ever wondered what his surname meant, Arnie shares the same middle name with Pope Benedict "Alois".

Now let's do a few variations of a running gag!

A Schwarzenegger comedy attempting to be subtle? That's something you don't see often. And it failed.

I remember the ad poster for that movie. It looked so mind-numbingly stupid that I never wanted to watch it. Well, I was right... and even that video review was pretty brutal to sit through, that's such an awful movie...

Old Schwarzenegger movies look boring to me. Why is the entire world made out of dirt and rocks in movies like that? It's called lumber, people! It comes from trees! Build some damn houses!

Man, the more I see these movie reviews, the more dumbfounded I am that this guy is now the governor of California. Granted, he's no worse than most other politicians, but still...

Ah, I'm just remembering when people said it was rude to embed flash from other sites. "Bandwidth stealing" they said it was. Hah, such ridiculous concerns seen in today's light eh?

    ...weird

Remember the visible time-outs and slow down on the internet? on 9/11 Marieke and I could barely connect our buddyphone to talk because the internet had slowed to a crawl because of all the users. Anybody remember how hotmail could only hold 4MB of messages and could only send 1MB of data? Ah, internet.... you salty witch.

I entered this thread hoping for nostalgia about The Critic. My disappointment knows no bounds.

Holy krap I remember when that episode aired, I laughed for hours. It wasn't just the punch line, it was how he reacted, just getting up from his chair in disgust and walking away. I do that when I say something stupid (happens a lot). I still remember my nephew's outcry. "Why does it have penis??????" Oh my roffling christ.

Haha, I remember that scene. Am I the only one who laughed almost as hard at the French fry stuck in his beard as I did at the "green peaness"?

Also, I can't get over how much he sounds like The Brain (both characters being voiced by Maurice LaMarche likely had a lot to do with that).

Oh--and I may add, Chewie's father's name is ITCHY, and his son's name is LUMPY. Not very Wookiee-like names... and this is ALL STAR WARS CANON! It's in my Star Wars encyclopedia.

Well technically, those are just the short forms, the full names are Mallatobuck (his wife), Attichitcuk (father), and Lumpawarrump (son).

But anyway, it's the Star Wars Holiday Special you're talking about. You're expecting something not stupid, even name-wise? :) (The short forms I mean, the full names are better... though I don't know if they came up with them beforehand or later... :))
