    So that happened...

    http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/06/us/oklahom...?hpt=hp_t2

Doesn't nature know that earthquakes DON'T hit this state? Guess not...

Anyway, yeah, it reached here and my house shook but that's about it. Honestly I thought a big wind storm suddenly kicked up, as that's a thing that actually happens here.

My favorite part of that story?

"A boulder rolled into a rural county road, blocking it."

That right there is some serious Lassie stuff.

Also, Bubba Fernandez is probably the best name I've ever heard. There's some history behind a crazy name like that.

I am not a geologist, I simply pointing out that there has been allot of tectonic activity in the last two years, Maybe it is related ?

Induced seismic activity by human activity can cause small earthquakes, geothermal plants have been known to cause minor quakes.

The Earth is just getting ready to spontaneously explode in December 2012. Nothing to worry about.

Small earthquakes aren't that uncommon, the article said that a quake that big had happened there sixty years ago... I don't think this year has had more seismic activity than usual.

Neither is Virginia, yet we had a 5.8 quake back in August which shook the whole East Coast. It was the strongest tremor in more than 100 years to hit the U.S. west of the Rocky Mountains.

I live about 20 miles from the epicenter of that one and my whole house vibrated for about 45 seconds. It was really not much more than an interesting diversion, but the local news went apeshit over it right up until Hurricane Irene came along and gave us something a little more pertinent to think about.

I think it's one of the laws of the internet that any attempt to label someone as stupid will result in type-o's.

Isn't it just spelled typos? "Type-O's" sounds like some sort of blood-based breakfast cereal.

    I think this explains it:
