    ... Super Mario Galaxy 2. Woah. They kind of faked us out with New Super Mario Bros. Wii being the main Wii Mario game... but no, it's this (though NSMB Wii had 4-player mode!). Awesome.

    ... (Itagaki-less) Team Ninja is working on Wii, on a Metroid game? Metroid: Other M? That's surprising... and the trailer sure is different (watch it). Not sure what to think, this could be good, or not... we'll have to see!

    And that's it. Nothing from the Zelda team yet, evidently... that will have to wait, it seems. Same for Pikmin 3.

    There's a good summary here: http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/47691/...e-Updating

    That game should turn out awesome, with some reservations from me mind you (not about the combat being smooth or the action being awesome, so much as maintaining the nature of one big world to explore and finding powerups rather than grinding them through Ninja Gaiden style "leveling orbs").

    And then there's this:

    <img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/06/fullzelda.jpg">

    Well there's only one thing to take from this image. The next Zelda game will be related to Twilight Princess directly. I LOVE that art style by the way.

    WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO! ZELDA! So I guess Spirit Tracks isn't the big Zelda game of the year (or next year, whichever). It's just something to hold us over for the main attraction, the highly demanded Twilight Princess sequel!

    I must say, this year's Nintendo E3 conference looks much more impressive than last year's. :)

    They learned their lesson it seems. Nintendo realizes they can't just woo people who don't know what E3 is with promises of new excersize equipment :D.

    Indeed. :) (If this had been like last year's presentation, the Vitality Sensor would have been the main thing they were showing, and those big new game reveals wouldn't have been there...)

    Zelda image: Hmm, not necesarially a TP sequel I would say. OoT art doesn't look too much different really, I think... I'd call it 'more mature Zelda art'. Could be a sequel, could be a new game... but will it be 'truly different' or whatever like they've said the next Zelda would be, or not? That's the most interesting question...

    The styles are pretty different to me. I notice the little things. The OOT style is a lot "smoother" I guess I could say. Look at the manual artwork for the characters and you'll see what I mean.

    <img src="http://www.zeldaelements.net/games_main/5/artwork/scenes/zelda-link2.jpg">

    This is pretty different.

    The main thing that makes me think Twilight Princess is the Twilii standing next to Link though.

    No, it's just art from the same artist I think. That doesn't look like a Twili to me. Looks completely different, actually... what about it makes you think Twili? The costume and colors are all wrong for Twili (Twili wear little clothing if any and have multicolored, patterned black and white skin, for instance... none of that here).

    Also, this:

    http://wii.ign.com/articles/991/991714p1.html

    Miyamoto says it's 'something completely different' (from TP).

    I dunno it reminded me of what Midna looked like when she had her curse removed is all.

    It kinda sorta reminds me of one of the Great Fairies in Wind Waker... somewhat... vaguely... Link without a sword? I hope he gets a sword at some point. The awesome thing about Twilight Princess being on the Wii is that you could use the Wiimote to swing Link's sword. Link without a sword is like Mario without the ability to jump. It just doesn't work!

    And yes, Nintendo remembered that E3 is for the physically unfit. We want games, not workout equipment. If we wanted to be in shape, we wouldn't be playing games. :)

    He does, but not very well (and with a fairly thick accent -- see, for instance, the E3 2004 Zelda TP reveal...). It's a lot easier for him to speak Japanese and have it translated.

    I think it just looks like a Zelda-style design, so it looks familiar without having been seen before... that's probably the best way to describe it, I think. Because it definitely doesn't look like a Twili, or a Great Fairy, but I can sort of see the connections... the styles are familiar, yet different.
