    I predicted this as soon as we heard that the DSi had higher tech specs than the original DS. Seems that I was right. I'm not too happy about it (it's too soon for the DS to be replaced), but it's true. :(

    I just hadn't kept up on the DSi. I'd heard it was a DS with some cameras, and that's when I stopped paying attention. So you're saying it has a faster processor too? It'd have to I suppose if there's actually going to be exclusive software for it.

    Well that's kinda annoying. I suppose I'll pick one up eventually, though the big annoyance is that they didn't add force feedback to the thing so that old add-on cart will be worthless. Well, I'm not just going to keep my DS Lite, I intend on selling the thing. I mean I already have my GBA SP (version 2 with the backlit screen) for all my GBA needs and I actually prefer that to playing GBA games on the DS (too much extra weight for no benefit since that newer GBA SP screen looks as good as the DS Lite screens). Yeah, no reason to really worry about losing the GBA cart slot I suppose.

    My DS's R button is only semi-functional, and the tip broke off the stylus, so yeah, it has some problems... but I do like using it for GBA games (as I don't have an SP, just an original GBA, and the backlight is nice if not necessary), so I wouldn't be selling it even so. I won't get a DSi soon, but yeah, now I'll definitely have to get one eventually... I just wish Nintendo had waited at least 5 years after the DS launch before replacing the system. At least it's not as bad as the GBC, 2 1/2 years and gone...

    I hear it has no backwards compatibility, which I suppose is no big deal to anyone who already owns any of its predcessors (read: probably all of us), but some games require the DS-GBA interaction (referring mainly to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl... yes, some people still play that even into their twenties!)

    Until major titles are no longer developed for the original DS, I see no reason to own a DSi, but from the way you're talking, that may happen. Until then, I'm content with my limited edition golden Triforce DS. (Yes, I just have to brag.)

    It has DS backwards combatibility, but yeah, no GBA backwards compatibility. There is a rumor that GB and GBC (and GBA and Game Gear?) games may eventually be sold in a Handheld Virtual Console, though.

    It is pretty annoying and I'm definitely unhappy about it, because the system could run GBA games just fine if it had the cart slot, but no. :(

    The major thing that's exclusive so far is the downloadable titles; Nintendo and other developers are making some, and they're all DSi only. As for retail titles, they're sure to come eventually, but none have been announced yet.
