Did you like the first two movies? I'm curious because I did enjoy the two and some of my friends who have seen the third liked it.

The first two were enjoyable. Not film making genius or anything, but I liked them enough to say it wasn't a waste. At least there weren't any glaring plot holes.

Oh, I should probably spoiler warn that whole block...

I loved the last movie, discarding the fact the 2 of the leads die.

X-Men 3 was good, if for nothing else then for the action and humor. The plot was... eh, it got the job done. I probably wouldn't have cared for it had I not been familiar with the X-Men universe to begin with.

Yeah, it was pretty formulaic, I'll give you that. Something needs to be done? Make a character who has the power to do that task.

The pre-release buzz was not exactly great, so what can you expect...

"Well there's a mutant that can turn his skin into metal" eh? Um, sorry, I'm not following. He's strong, which is what was needed, but what does his metal have to do with it, and WHY didn't Magneto do something cool with that metal?

And again, any storyline that can only work if everyone involved is an idiot that avoids smart paths that would actually lead to avoiding the whole story needs to be thrown out and replaced with something ELSE. And don't give me that "well then you wouldn't have a story" because that's more or less my point. They shouldn't have bothered with a story if they couldn't do it right. I could have saved a few bucks :D.

I just saw it last night, and it was pretty bad. The first two movies were good because they didn't just create new mutants just to say "look who we have." The only new mutant in X3 who really had a good purpose was the flying one, and he was actually underused in my opinion. I really hope they are done with the X-Men franchise now, but I doubt it after the ending.
