Certainly one of the top holy grails of the industry...

Apparently 200 prototypes of this thing were made, but all were ordered destroyed when the deal fell through... but a maintenance guy kept one, and his son just posted pictures of it. There's no power cord, so until we see that proof I'll be at least a bit skeptical, but the article above adds a lot more credibility to the story than just the initial pictures (also in that article) do. Presuming it is real, I wonder what's on the cart and the CD...

The yellowing makes me think it might actually be legit. (Although, if you know the chemistry, artificially yellowing plastic is not beyond the skills of a good forger.)

I saw a few pictures of the prototype in Nintendo Power. This looks nothing like those, but it looks "about right", for a Playstation developed device, at least. The back has so many components that it clearly wasn't how Nintendo would have designed it, but it looks exactly like what the very first model of the Playstation looks like. I'm sure the cart and disc have nothing more than test code on them.

Yeah, this would be Sony's model, not Nintendo's. It's supposed to have come from Sony. It definitely looks legit, I agree. I really hope it is, and works!

Indeed, though sadly even if it works there's not much we can glean from it. As was pointed out, there's basically no games at all for this thing.
