I've found that "trading cards" amount to nothing more than a silly little image file I can't even set as a desktop image. To me, they serve no point. I will not go out of my way to obtain them, or trade them, or any such thing.

Normally, I'd just say "to each their own" on these things and just admit they aren't for me. However, Steam's client insists on popping up messages every single time I get one of these stupid things. There is a little counter saying how many I've collected, and in order to clear that out (or make sure I didn't receive an actual message notification up there), I have to click and go to that page to see my ever growing list of nonsense. To this I would suggest some method of opting out of, at the very least, these stupid notifications.

Or you could sell them for Steam monies which you could use to buy games or something.

Off-topic, but I hate notifications for everything in general. Every company wants my attention, and in several different ways. Even if I'm on a webpage or something, and the company already has my attention, and wants to interrupt me YET AGAIN to get me to sign up for some dumb mailing list or get me to sign a petition. Fuck off, all of you. My attention span can't handle it!

Who the fuck ever wants to sign up for any mailing list? I get too much spam as it is from companies that opt me in automatically. Fuck all of you.

GR, I scoff at that, scoffy scoff scoff.

What you're saying is that I'm a FOOL because I just left MONEY ON THE TABLE, the greatest sin in the universe, and have defied the invisible hand of the market (which I think I beat up in Smash Bros). Okay no, you're not saying that, but I'm using hyperbole, and EVERYONE DOES THAT ALL THE TIME FOREVER!

Seriously, I can sell these dumb cards for, what a buck each? The time it takes to actually "sell off" all these dumb things would be worth more to me than the money I'd actually make (which, all together, probably would amount to $20).

More to the point, what I'm complaining about isn't my slowly growing collection of cards but rather the constant notifications every few seconds that WOW, I just unlocked ANOTHER one! I'm merely asking for a way to shut off those notifications, especially since they "appear" in the same little microtab as friendship requests and invitations.

SJ, I'm with you. What really bugs me are advertisements in Hulu, FOR Hulu. I'm not sure how they profit when they're paying themselves to advertise their own stuff. What sort of sense does that make? I don't care about some beef jerky's new mascots, some super heroes of jerky or whatever.

I'm actually pretty sure that selling those cards violets some section of Steam's user agreement, but the thing is simply too labyrinthine for me to bother reading it to be sure. Better to be safe than sorry.

Guys. GUYS. Come on, guys. Seriously.

You go to your Steam inventory on the Steam program, click on the card you want to sell, and then set a price. Then you do absolutely nothing else while you wait for someone to buy the card on the official Steam marketplace set up by Steam and operated directly through Steam. That's it.

So instead of taking days, it takes seconds, SECONDS only?

Still not worth it. I'd still rather not be told when I get these dumb things. Sorry, I left money on the table. I guess I don't get Christmas this year.

Another thing I don't like is having to turn off annotations on Youtube videos all the time. Just let me watch the video for fuck's sake. I know they need to advertise somehow (usually it's a link to another website or their channel or some dumb shit) but if your content is good enough it'll stand out on its own, and I will seek those things out myself. It sure as hell isn't working to intrude on my experience and interrupt it, so I cannot fathom it properly.

I wish Youtube's business model allowed for me to disable them from all videos. It certainly wouldn't be difficult to do functionally, and I believe you used to be able to do it, but if I were running Youtube I would probably make the same decision. For the content uploaders. They'd probably be pissed. Though then again, I'd be a motherfucking juggernaut, and I could really just flip them the bird and say "well go upload your shit on DAILYMOTION then, you fucking loser" and they would sigh and know they have been bested.
