    This week we have the:

    PORSCHE 911 GT2!

    (2002 model shown, 2003 is same)

    Wow! 0-60 in 3.85 seconds, quarter mile in 11.9 seconds. Top speed 196 mph. (With quick gear ratios changes howver, that could go 200 for sure, but the acceleration would be slower)

    Powered by a 3.6 liter flat 6 cylinder engine with twin turbochargers. The engine makes 456 horsepower, which is a lot. More than a shitty Corvette or Viper (except the 2003 Viper, although this car is still faster)
    A cool thing about it and all 911 Porsches is that the engine is houses in the rear of the car. Luggage goes under the normal hood. Plus direct power given to the rear axle without a drive shaft.


    NOTE: (in a V6 the cylinders are lined in two groups of three like this \ /. in a flat they are fallened sideways like so _ _)

    Laserlink: Yeah the Elise does look more aggressive and stylish in general. However, the Porsche would easily dust it. And the Elise would lose pretty bad. (Not saying the Elise is slow, just he Porsche is ultra! It's one of the fastest non-race cars.)

    Wetlall: Yeah that new Mustang is ugly. Speaking of which I've always hated Mustangs. Everyone fricken has one.

    White Fleck: Yeah the trunk thing is cool. But did you know, that Porsches have always been rear engine, front trunk cars since they came out. Besides the 944 and 928 that is. Anyway rear engines make a car a sports car. Also because you'll look coll saying "oh yeah! look at this" while opening the REAR while taunting a Corvette.


    Just another thing, that car costs about $185,000

    Well, it really doesn't matter to me how fast a car can go, since I will never drive it that fast anyway. If it can go the speed limit, I'm happy.

    Sometimes you can go fast. My older brother in his BMW got up to 115, while I was in it. He has a radar thingy on it though for cop detecting.

    Anyway, It's also just to know that you're car can go fast. noteably, faster than the guy next to you. So you can say "shut up, you're little 'mustang GT' is shite!" or "hey, Vipers are only good in America. Come to Germany, foo!"

    Yes, and I've driven over 100 mph in our Honda Odyssey, and that's not exactly a sports car. Until recently, Montana did not have a freeway speed limit during the day.

    I managed to push my '90 Honda Accord in Crap-O<sup>TM</sup> Condition to about 110. Does that mean anything? Not really, since the fastest I drive from place to place is 75-80 on a 65. But that's only when I'm REALLY in a hurry.

    Whoa! Yeah, most cars can push 110 or so.

    I did say my brother's BMW did 115.
    HOWEVER...BMWs, as we know, are made in Germany, adn before they come here, they have governors (speed limiting chips) in them. He had it at 115, in last gear, with about 2/3 of his rpms left. So without his limiter, the car would top out at around say 145-150. The speedo reads up to 155 though. But it MIGHT be able to do that too.

    This week, have we the:

    ASTON MARTIN DB7 GT


    Made by British car maker Aston Martin, the DB7 GT is a even higher performance version of the already high performance DB7 Vantage.
    This car sports a 6.0 liter V12 cylinder engine, which generates 435 horsepower.
    The car costs around $170,000.
    It's also quite fast, doing 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds, and having a top speed of 185 mph.
    Not quite as fast as the previous car (the Porsche), this thing is still quick.

    Not that I have the slightest interest in these threads, but it's not a bad thing for nick to make a new thread every week. It's not like we're bursting with posts or anything like that.

    I just popped in here, and I notice that you guys are getting just a tad personal. I do believe nick actually wanted us to complain about no one caring, first off. Second off, regardless, this is the random forum, and even though around here he is apparently most hated poster, he has the right to talk about cars. Of course, posting new threads to clutter everything up is an act of annoyance, which is a deadly sin, but he made a total of two car threads last I checked. That's hardly an overflowing amount (well, in this forum it is :D).
