Why, exactly, should anyone care? I at least don't.

    Also, this is good stuff.

I've already talked about this. Doesn't modern society reject the concept of a monarchy? To see all this weird focus you'd think that Cinderella and Prince Charming were getting married here. Personally I'm just glad it's all over so everyone can focus on what REALLY matters, that the bride was a MERE COMMONER! (Seriously, what century are we living in? It's the 90's man!)

Hey, a hundred years ago he'd most likely have had to resign his title if he wanted to marry a commoner, so they've made a little progress...

But yeah, seriously, royalty is a very outdated thing, modern democracies have no need of monarchies. I support them getting rid of it too.

The royal family has no real power in Brittan they are just a figure head.. It's the British parliament that runs the show..

The best part was the ending, and when the guy started talking about Prince William shooting lasers out of his asshole. :)

The Queen can dissolve parliament and appoint the Prime Minister. Granted this hasn't been done in a long time, which is commendable, but she technically does have this power.

Then there's the royal prerogative. In practice, the figurehead only gives these "orders" under her own orders by parliament. One of those prerogatives is declaring war. There are others but that's a big one. Basically the Queen is a big gavel who slams down orders given by the rest of the government, but notable is how required she is for this. What if she ever refused? It's a huge and dumb flaw to have open. I don't care what magic powers she's imbuing Canada or Australia with, they can get along just fine without her I'm sure. Just, here's a thought, rewrite the laws so that no one's suddenly rendered into slaves or whatever it is Canada is so afraid of.

Britain can have all the monarchy and royal weddings they want, but I don't have to care.
