... It worked that time though, but long term that doesn't seem like the smartest idea for that cat... unless it's being staged of course, which certainly seems possible.

How would you stage something like that? You can't really train an alligator.

well in defence of the gators when i worked at spca and animal control the gators around boat docks were pretty docile and had no fear of humans (which led to attacks, go fig) however that's pretty impressive. Cats should be an easy meal for them

It's all in the stare. Cats can stare down anything. Mirrors can be tricky sometimes...

Gators may not fear humans, but cats? Maybe they confused them for the big cats, who apparently occasionally kill and eat crocs and the like.
