You should note that scientists are human beings, as opposed to giant computers with no sense of humor. They name things in very arbitrary ways sometimes.

You want to know exactly what generation we are dealing with in current genetics? Take a look at one of the genes needed for birds to produce feathers. This gene is called the "SonicHedgehog" gene. Seriously.

I doubt a lawsuit, but if it gets to Nintendo they may request they change the name if possible. It's not like they're using the word Pokemon to market something, it's now a semi-medical term.

I can see Nintendo wishing to change the name. Having one of their mot successful franchises linked (albeit indirectly) to cancer isn't exactly great for marketing.

    That's for sure :D.

    ...

You know during an interview with some scientist on some show he had a big Mewtwo poster in his lab? Wow aren't I specific?

So either A, that's just a poster he has because he's a nerd, or B, every morning he gives a peptalk to the other people working there saying "This is what we are working towards here people!". If it's the second... I'm building an ark...

You could build a giant rocket and fill it with animals and then when the rocket reaches 100KM it could incinerate the Earth.
