I got the latest OXM in the mail today and much to my surprise a demo of the game was included with the issue as well as the first review. It got a fantastic 9.0 from OXM, and I'm very happy to report that the game plays wonderfully. The combat is excellent, the controls are solid, and the camera is pretty good as well.

Unfortunately it's only coming out for the PS2, PC, and X-Box. But those of you that have one of these systems should be looking forward to this February release.

Correction: Only the X-Box version is coming out this month. The PC version is coming out in March and the PS2 version isn't coming out until May.

Here's some pretty boxart for those of you that like to look at pictures:

I dunno. Indianna is so... out of touch. Now Tucan Sam on the other hand...

Hey, I thought you were the Star Wars fan!

Indy and the Fate of Atlantis (pc) was great... but that was mostly an adventure game, with a few action parts... but Infernal Machine (pc and n64) wasn't so good... I played the demo and it felt like a Tomb Raider clone, but with Indy.

If this game is an improvement on the last one, that'd be great... the good review is promising. I know its mostly an action game, but still... it IS Indy...

Haha, right of course they mix :D.

Anyway, I do have to say there have been two Indy games I played a while back that were pretty nice. One was an adventure game that was pretty fun, which included some huge journal or something actually, that I happened to have lost now sadly... The other was this action game that got pretty hard in the last level. Of course, there were only like 5 levels so it wasn't much.

Did you actually play the N64 version of Indy and the Infernal Machine ABF? I think that version was much better than the PC version. The controls were a lot tighter which I think was the main problem with the PC version. Anyway, I might pick this game up for PS2 if I'm not too busy playing Zelda by then.

D is correct. I have the N64 version and it's a lot better than the PC one, although it still has its flaws. The graphics are also better, believe it or not.

And I have the new Indy demo, people, and it's a ton of fun. If it weren't an Indy game I'd still buy it. It really is that good.

No, I never played the N64 one, but did hear it was an improvement... but its still a Tomb Raider-style game... and I always disliked that game...

The N64 game was very Tomb Raider-ish, aside from the much improved controls. But this new Indy game is a whole new beast. It's really good.

I think what OB1 is trying to say is that the new Indy game is really good. :)

So its less like Tomb Raider and more like an action game? That's good... I guess it does mean less puzzles though, but oh well... as I said, I've always thought Tomb Raider games weren't very good at all...

I never liked any of the Tomb Raider games, mainly because of the crappy controls. But this new Indy game is nothing like it.
