Ashley Madison hack gets... weird comments

So you may have heard about this hack. It's got a lot more publicity than hacks over credit card data, and that fact alone really depresses me.

Every article online has a bunch of comments that read like this.

"This hack is going to hurt a lot of families." Right, the truth will hurt people. That's entirely the hacker's fault, isn't it? These are the sorts of people who get mad when someone reveals the truth because it will "ruin them". Sorry to quote Obi-wan here but, "You did that yourself!".

Hmm, if the media really has been reporting more on this than other hacks, then I'd entirely agree with you that that's pretty stupid... and yes, that it's entirely the people who signed up for that sites' faults for wanting to do that. I hadn't heard of this site before this hack, but I guess there is a site for everything...

I think that one of the reasons it is getting so much attention is because there may be evidence of fraudulent activity on the part of the people who run the page. Certainly, they had virtually nothing in the way of network security.

When that site first started, it made headlines due to the controversial nature of its services. As I predicted , it's all gonna end in divorce!

Oh yes, I heard about that. That random subway mascot wasn't just a pedophile, he was using his own charity (which is specifically aimed at helping children) to get more child pornography (from the president of said charity). The implications of that are horrifying.
