Somewhat scary stuff, but yeah, I agree with the article, it's both plausible, and also likely to eventually happen. Big Brother indeed.

The original Kinect simply doesn't have the "hooks" to do that, but the Kinect 2? They've already stated on the record that they're going to gauge your face during advertising, so yes, the Kinect 2 will have this capability.

When the NSA approaches a company and says "we want to put a data closet in here", I don't think any company CAN say no, or even reveal that they were asked. More to the point, drones.

I've gone back and forth for some time about this, going between "keeping it real" and idealism. However, I've reached a conclusion. I'm going to say it right now. Unmanned drones are cowardly. I think any war should require both sides to at least conceivably be in danger. It sorta helps to PREVENT wars, being afraid of death and all. I think at the very least, we need to all admit that unmanned drones are a very cowardly way to conduct war. Put our soldiers at risk! Maybe the audacity of that will make soldiers second guess their commitment to the war.

Fantastic! It is also good to hear you don't have a cell phone or internet access.

Cellphone and internet spying are bad, but not as bad as the government having access to an always-on camera in your living room!

Yeah, drones have definitely led America to kill a lot of people who we wouldn't have otherwise killed (if we had to actually go in there). It's pretty awful, considering how many of them were surely innocent.
