Did you guys see the commercial for Mario Kart, or the DS, or just Nintendo as a concept, or whatever it was for?

It was... painful... It had some people who we are not playing games in very annoying ways with the winner of a Mario Kart race doing this.... grunt... that I think means "I beat you". Also they were tilting the DS as though that made a difference.

The worst part was it was done in the "this is totally how real people act" sort of way, in that clearly commercial makers have no idea how real people act.

I guess Nintendo is doing very well now, but wow their commercials are definitely not aimed at me.

Nintendo has never made commercials aimed at us. For that matter, neither has Sony or Microsoft.

We don't need commercials because we follow the release dates and know exactly what we're going to buy and when. We're the hardcore.

Those ads are aimed at everyone else, and in Nintendo's case, I mean that quite literally.

And yet what manner of illiterate mouth breather could possibly watch those without vomiting in terror?

Average America, not gamers, that is. Nintendo knows why it's winning right now, and it's not because of hardcore gamers, for sure...

I'd like to see Nintendo make fun of themselves with their commercials. But whatever, Nintendo is kicking the tits off everything so why complain.

When i'm complaining *next* year that there's no serious RPG's or tactical games, no 'hardcore' adventures, etc. Then i'll complain.
