If you remember, Super Star Soldier for the N64 was the only 2d (2d field...it was polyagonal) scrolling spaceshooter... I wonder which Star Solider game(s) this will have in it... the series also includes 1 NES and 3 TurboGrafx games...

Neat. Both the original Star Soldier as well as SS: Vanishing Earth were quite the enjoyable games. What's the price for a GC down to?

Yeah and Hudson is doing this because of the Famicom's 20th anniversary. I wonder if Nintendo will do something big to commemorate it. I certainly hope they will.

So... ports? New game? Both? It'd be nice to see a new game (SSS on the N64 would still have been good if it wasn't the only shooter on the N64... the way you could roll to reflect shots is great! But I don't know... there hasn't been a new game in the series since SSS, and that's been a few years... we'll see. Probably ports... will it be just the NES game or something?

- Hudson announced two new titles for GameCube. The first is Star Soldier, a new installment of the classic vertical scrolling shooter; the second is Lode Runner, a classic action game. Both titles are remake of the classic 8-bit Famicom (NES) version, the GameCube remakes will change from 2D to 3D, and the basic system will remain the same. Star Soldier and Lode Runner are scheduled for a July 10 release in Japan, for 3200 yen each.

SS: Vanishing Earth on the N64 was a pretty cool game, shooters are one of my favorite genres. This is good news that another game is this series is being made.
