I would love to be able to play DS games on the big screen, ala the Game Boy Player for the Gamecube (LOVE THAT THING!). Anyone got anything in the works? Nintendo? Anyone?

To my knowledge, no such device yet exists.

It'd be kind of tough, with the touch screen and all. I'm not sure how they'd work it. Sure, there are games that don't use the touch screen, but I doubt they'd release a peripheral or something that doesn't allow all games.

Then again, I suppose when Wii comes out, the Wiimote could be used like a stylus on a TV screen. I dunno. I guess it's not out of the quesiton, but if it's going to come out, I don't think the GameCube will see it. It's a little far into the gen to be releasing new peripherals.

    Interesting idea.

Okay, so basically you guys didn't read anything I posted at all.

Miyamoto said that DS games will be played on TV using the Wii and pointer either at launch or soon after. The games will probably be inserted in to the SD card slots in the front of the Wii.

I seem to remember Miyamoto saying something about this. I believe he said DS games can be played on the TV using the Wii and pointer some time around launch or soon after. I'm guessing the games will be inserted into the SD card slots on the Wii.

So apparently the "two screen" thing just isn't needed so much as one big screen :D.

Why? :D We've been over this a number of times, and basically the only logical reason seems to be either the price of making one large screen was prohibitive and/or since the touch screen does distort the lower image slightly (only slightly) they wanted one with a clear image.

But it'll be difficult to do this on a TV simply due to the vertical allignment the DS has. You'll get two small screens on top of each other, or in the case of wide screen, you'll probably have to tilt it on it's side. That's not so silly an idea, as I've seen a number of computer moniters (such as my brother's) that have a built in rotate ability so you can just tilt it that way. So far he hasn't bothered using it, but it has possibilities.
