Yes, the boss that can only be hurt by one weapon, which you run out of before being able to kill it all... If it weren't for thingy #1, or just killing yourself after destroying all the walls...

Ugh, and your Crash Bombs run out so quickly, and even if you die, you're just going to have to come in with no Crash Bombs again! You need to beat the boss the first time or that's it. So annoying! Fortunately, I don't think Capcom made similar blunders in any of the future MM games.

Actually, what I did was just take out ALL the walls, die, go back for some weapon capsules, then take them all out with the walls still gone.

Later I just made sure to ONLY take out the walls I absolutely needed to.

    Oh, the walls stay gone?

    ...

Are you sure? I don't remember that. Then again, it's been a while since I faced that boss in MM2.

They stay gone unless you game over.

And yes, I'm pretty sure, though I'm open to evidence to the contrary :D.

Sometimes I'd get to that level and take those two energy capsules, forget I did by the time I blow up the walls, and then get angry and go "leaf shielding" for more weapon capsules in one of those rooms where the platforms move around and those flying bots keep appearing.

But, now that I'm pretty good with item #1, that's no longer an issue. Still, good times... good times...

You're probably right, and that Leaf Shield thing works great, I use it too :D. Good thing it doesn't use energy continuously. I also use it to destroy those tiny birds when going up the ladders near the end of Crash Man's level. Sure, you can't move with it, but when you do move, it becomes the games biggest projectile, second only to a fully charged Atomic Fire.

As for the boss, it's not nearly as bad as that stupid dragon. I can do it now, I've got the timing and the strategy down, but back in the NES days, it was the bane of my existence.

Ah, the dragdon... Yeah, the only real hard part with that dragon was the infinite pit of doom. That's all.

Yeah, but you get hit and Mega Man reels a bit, especially if you're jumping. If you're not careful, that little bit is all you need to send him plummeting over the edge.
