The Revolution controller to be revealed September 16th.

    BELIEVE.

Who knows if it's true or not but I will say this. With the massive amount of hype this thing has gotten anything less grand than jacking into the Matrix will be a letdown for most.

The Tokyo Game Show makes sense to show off the Revolution there, especially with less than 4 months till the end of the year after TGS and no other major press events for console gaming after that.

It could have been shown in Germany but I doubted it, it's in gemany... why show in Germany? But a showing in Japan would be a success for Nintendo. I just hope they actually reveal it because it could be that the thing isnt actually done yet.

I predict Mario up and running as well as Metroid. *dur* Other than I expect a video of real time footage. This is just a total theory, but I think Nintendo will announce that Zelda TP will have a connection bonus when put in the Revolution, could be a new dungeon, a new item, etc. I dunno, but I expect something to that effect.

I sometimes wonder if the over-hyping is really a ploy by M$ or Sony because, like Smoke said, there is no way this can live up to it's billing and most people will be disapointed and blame Nintendo.

Yes it's all a conspiracy. The little plastic things on the ends of shoelaces are called inglets! Their true purpose, is sinister!

Or it could be that the nature of the internet and those who peruse it have taken Nintendo's comments completly out of context and twisted them to mean something else entirely.

Quote: Revolution will be revealed at TGS
Hi everyone. Sorry for the technical problems on my site. Random Nintendo even has an article up on that. I will recover any lost content as soon as I get ´round to it. Only this morning, I returned from the ´Marc Ecko´s Getting up´ event in New York, so I´m jetlagged like hell and have loads of stuff to do in the newsroom. In the meantime, however, there is big news over at the British gaming site Spong. They claim:

You’ll be pleased to know that a full explanation of Revolution will be made by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during his Tokyo Game Show keynote address. This news represents completely finalised Nintendo plans – Iwata will fully outline The Secret on 16th September 2005.

Nintendo is assembling key media to attend this year’s show, due to take place between 16th – 18th September 2005. Iwata will make his presentation of current activities at Nintendo. He will outline current projects and will then - unveil the Revolution in all its glory.

The Revolution presentation will include an explicit outline of the hardware and its controller and input mechanic, as well as illustrate exactly how it will work. It will go on to show games running on the system and how they make use of the technology.

Mario 128, or ‘New Mario’ as it is dubbed internally at Nintendo, is expected to be the star of the show.

SPOnG has a record of perfectly outlining what Iwata’s keynote addresses will entail. And we can tell you with 100% certainty that in the next three and a bit weeks, we’ll all be looking at Nintendo Revolution controller hardware and accompanying games. Exciting times indeed.

I have just spoken to the author of the article and I can tell yout that this information is undoubtedly accurate. As far as I could tell from our conversation, he is a reliable journalist with excellent contacts in the industry. He couldn´t name his source, naturally. But his contact is a highly placed employee at Nintendo of Europe. He also confirmed that Nintendo is selecting key media to invite to Tokyo for the event.

Now, you may wonder if he actually knows about the controller features as well. He does not. At least, he is not interested in talking about that. And I understand that. I´m sure we all agree: revealing the controller features prematurely could hurt Nintendo - revealing the date when Nintendo plans to reveal them does not. I´m just glad that, finally, the age of all the fakers like Seriousgamer is over. Finally we get some reliable information and can look forward to a definite date.

All the more reason to show up.

Also, MS and Sony will have keynote speeches, so Nintendo needs to have a presense at the show. /fact

That means talk Revolution and show the things we want to see while still not giving away everything and show areas of Zelda: TP and the GC's "last games" will be announced. /theory

Quote:GameSpot comments on the Sponge rumor
    ---------------------------------------------------------
RUMOR #1: The Nintendo Revolution and its controller will be fully unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show on September 16.

    Source: The scuttlebuttlcious Spong.

The official story: "Nintendo does not comment on speculation."--Nintendo of America spokesperson.

What we heard: Adopting its typical--and not always unwarranted--self-congratulatory tone, Spong this week trumpeted the fact that it had learned exactly when the Revolution and its vaunted controller would be revealed. However, its assertion that the deed will be done at TGS next month wasn't quite as surprising as the site made it out to be. Rumors to the same effect have been swirling ever since Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced he would be delivering a keynote at the event. Spong's "exclusive" echoed that speculation, saying that Iwata will offer "an explicit outline of the [Revolution] hardware and its controller and input mechanic" and will "illustrate exactly how it will work." The site says executives will also show off several games on the console, including the title popularly referred to as "Mario 128." Indeed, TGS seems like an opportune time to finally take the wraps off the Revolution, which is supposed to launch sometime next year. It would also make sense strategically, as Microsoft is planning a pre-TGS conference where it is expected to reveal the Xbox 360's price and Sony says the PlayStation 3 will be present in some form at the event. Iwata's very presence is also noteworthy. Although he addressed TGS two years ago, his company traditionally eschews the event altogether, meaning he likely has a special reason for turning up. But is there any evidence of the Revolution unveiling other than Iwata? According to Spong, "Nintendo is assembling key media to attend this year’s show." However, "assembling" is a bit much, as the company has not been waging a major media campaign promoting Iwata's speech. That's probably because they don't have to, as every game journalist worth his or her salt is trying to get in to hear what Iwata does--and doesn't--say.

Bogus or not bogus?: We'll see next month, but sources close to Nintendo say a next-gen Mario demo is a strong probability.

Some others have confirmed the Spong story as well. Looks like the controller and Revolution games will finally be revealed. Possibly next-gen Mario too!
