Third parties. Or one at least. Midway Arcade Treasures 2 was the first sign, but this is better... :)

But don't worry, we still get the worst version! One guess as to what we don't get that the PS2 and X-Box version do... shouldn't be hard.

Quote:August 20, 2004 - Midway Games will next week announce that it is in development with a GameCube version of Mortal Kombat: Deception. The title is slated to hit Nintendo's console in the first half of next year, according to company executives.

Mortal Kombat: Deception, the sixth console installment in Midway's fast-paced, gory fighting franchise, takes the series to new heights thanks to an impressive new game engine that enables more realistic graphics, hand-to-hand combat and weapons, four unique gameplay modes and more. Deception is also set to be the goriest sequel in Mortal Kombat history, in part due to interactive environments that can literally slice and dice opponents to pieces.

The GameCube version of Deception will be a perfect port of the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions, which are scheduled to release this October. However, it will not feature online play, as the other builds will. A Midway spokesperson revealed to IGN that the company will add two new, exclusive features to the GCN incarnation in place of online play.

Wondering why Midway finally decided to bring Mortal Kombat: Deception to GameCube? Click here to get all the answers in our exclusive interview with company marketing executive Steve Allison.

And when you're done with that, see exclusive new screenshots of the game in motion.

It's a vicious cycle... the third parties see poor sales on Cube so they cut titles, and they see no multiplayer games so they drop multiplayer modes, and the gamers buy other versions because they have more features, and that gets the publishers to produce less Cube games...

Never played it. The first 4 games were so utterly devoid of entertainment, unless you count figuring out "fatalities". I'm still not sure exactly how those HELP you in battle... KI2 did it right by changing it's fatalities into actual super moves you could only do when your health was REALLY low. It actually served a purpose there!

I didn't like KI as much, too much emphasis on combos and stuff... MK is okay. I like Street Fighter or the SNK games (KOF, etc) more, but MK isn't bad... just very fast paced.

I know, and there is the problem... Street Fighter or KOF, with their special move focus, are better. :)

I used to play a lot of MK when I was little, but soon got bored of it (and KI) once button mashing got old for me. The Capcom and SNK 2D fighters are the best. MK and KI can't touch 'em.

Though Deadly Alliance was actually not half-bad.

I wasn't really expecting much from MKV, because I've always liked SF and the SNK games way more than MK, but I was somewhat surprised... sure it's not as good as the best 3d fighters, but it's better than I thoguht it would be.

I like your new title. Since it wasn't rude of me (according to you and DJ), I think I'll continue doing this until I get my point across.

I wasn't insulting you in the title, so it's not the same. And you know it.
