Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 5th August 2003

Oh yes! Even better! A dirty great ax convinces others even more!

GR, what other thing could possibly convince everyone so well?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 5th August 2003

Quote:GR, what other thing could possibly convince everyone so well?

Stupidity. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 5th August 2003

Stupidity? I know that! *grabs neuralizer pen and repeatedly neuralizes self while smiling and drooling*

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 6th August 2003

Clone ABF unleashes his fearsome "Kamehameha Wave"! Is this the end of the real ABF?!

13 - The Kamehameha Wave of Slowness!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 6th August 2003

Hey that's from Aqua Teen!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 6th August 2003

They had a kamehameha in Aqua Teen?

Ah yes, the rule of all fighting! If a move takes forever to prepair, the bad guy always gives them time TO prepair!

Second rule is NEVER take unintended time given to you to prepair until AFTER you think for a while about having this time and explaining that you have it and will start using it any second now!

That does look like a blue sun! Is that some infrared or ultraviolate image of it, converted into the blue wavelength so we could actually see it?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 6th August 2003

Sadly, my avatar based comic is something I'll have to kill. I accelerated it to the ultimate end of all universes, for indeed, our universe isn't slowing down in it's expansion. IT"S SPEEDING UP! This comic sucks because it ended in a wimper, and because it's not funny...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 6th August 2003

Quote:Hey that's from Aqua Teen!

Yep, it's one of my main sources of inspiration along with our own antics. :)

Quote:They had a kamehameha in Aqua Teen?

No, but several of the lines I used are from Aqua Team.

Quote:Is that some infrared or ultraviolate image of it, converted into the blue wavelength so we could actually see it?

Yes, that's exactly what it is. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 6th August 2003

What the hell was that, DJ??!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 6th August 2003

You see, my kind of comedy is the comedy aimed at an audience. I think "if we were actually a TV show, what could I do that while not making anyone HERE laugh, would make a watcher laugh?".

That doesn't explain the above comic at all though... But, these CAT scans should do the trick!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 6th August 2003

That's a very messed up comic....

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 6th August 2003

As bad as her comic is, at least she used a relatively pretty background. :p

That red and blue is killing me!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 6th August 2003

Yeah, DJ has a nice background, but the comic is ... a bit lacking ... :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 6th August 2003

When the final frame is the end of a universe, the ultimate spread outitude of nothingness that means no time, well, it can't be more lacking than that can it?

Fortunatly, Laser Link and I managed to escape before the whole thing collapsed.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 6th August 2003

And now, just for OB1, a brand new comic with detailed backgrounds!!

14 - A Brief Non-Musical Interlude!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 6th August 2003

Whee! Time for my second comic!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 6th August 2003

But I don't like coke, or pepsi! I just don't like the Dark Colas and their EVIL plans for universal rule! Well, actually it's just odd that all the flavors of soda I don't like (root beer, pepsi/coke... that's actually about it...) happen to be dark. But it makes it easy to lump them together anyway. I prefer fruity sodas like orange and grape, and the clear ones like 7-up and Sprite. No, not crystal pepsi, even though I know this comic book guy who's got some.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 6th August 2003

Both are funny... in different ways... :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 6th August 2003

Haha, very funny geoboy and GR.

And when I said good backgrounds, I meant ones that don't look like you just used the paint bucket tool in MS Paint to make them. :p :shakeit:

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 6th August 2003

But MS Paint is a ... uh, deep and complex drawing tool... yeah...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 6th August 2003

I really need to give GR photoshop, the boor bastard.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 6th August 2003

Hey, its all I have too!

Except for some stupid worthless photo editors that is.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

All I have is Corel Draw 7 and there's only so much you can do with that!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

Actually we also have Corel Draw 4 and Corel Draw 5, but I never installed either one on my PC...

Other than that... hmm, maybe I could do it in Klik & Play? :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 7th August 2003

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 to edit the sprites (color, expressions, etc.), to cut out the background, to place the sprites in the scene, and to also make the panel cells of the comic. I use Macromedia Flash MX for the talk bubbles, and once in a while I may use Photoshop 7 to do an effect I can't do with the other two applications. The second comic I made is a result of 3 hours of work. It was definitely worth the effort though.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

Quote:The second comic I made is a result of 3 hours of work

3 hours? Heh, mine only take about 20-30 minutes. The first comic I did only took about an hour. :D

I uses Corel Draw 7 do the original image [importing images, creating backgrounds, speech bubbles] then when everything is put together I save the image. Then I load the image into Corel Photo-Paint where I resample the image to about 700X467. I check to make sure everything is ok and make edits in Corel Draw where needed then I save it as a JPEG.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

For the past hour I have been scouring the internet looking for suitable pictures to use in making a new format for my comic. My work has left me with four possible formats.

I think "D" is the best of the bunch.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

Klik & Play Comic. Intro. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

That took forever... I had to draw those stupid black borders around four different frames of those characters to make them very visible with this backdrop. Annoying and time-consuming...

How about white backgrounds? :D

Oh, if you can't tell, that's an Amazon. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

Quote:How about white backgrounds?

I tried that I think it might work out pretty well.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

But that wouldn't help me not have to spend forever drawing a black line around the sprite... :)

Solid colors in rectangles are the key, I guess.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 7th August 2003

Anything but those horrid red and blue backgrounds!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

Finally, the first comic using the new format is complete! ABF finally gets tired of watching Clone ABF's attack slowly move toward him so he decides to take action!

15 - Eye Beams!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 7th August 2003

Hehe, but now you're gonna have to figure out how to make the new avatar come back, since that's the one ABF uses now.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

no one cares about my comic... oh well. its not like i'd make that much effort to black-outline sprites again... but i could use other backgrounds... :) Sure, it isn't very funny... oh well. I'm not very good at this. :)

Oh, and yeah, GR... this is my avatar now so what do you do?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 7th August 2003

No he doesn't. It's a fictional comic that'll slowly resemble reality less and less, just as it should!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

How do we know ABF isn't really a clone?! Huh?!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 7th August 2003

You just need to use word bubbles better. I couldn't tell if the sign was changing or if someone yelled that out to Robin Hood.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

ABF, your comic was sort of funny, but no very well constructed. Work on that and it'll make a big difference.

That changing sign had "Monkey Island" written all over it. :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th August 2003

Huh? But it says "sign" on the sign! How much clearer could I be?

... add a black line around the white box that is the sign? Yeah, I thought of that, but it'd be a little bit harder to do so I didn't. :D

And yes, the changing sign joke is funny. I am pretty sure I've also seen it in Looney Tunes... that's what I was thinking of, actually, but MI is fine too. :)

Oh, and what exactly should i do for actual word bubbles... white blocks would have covered most of the picture! Oh well...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th August 2003

Quote:white blocks would have covered most of the picture!

Make the font as small as you can, that'll save space.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th August 2003

ABF has defeated his clone, but the trouble seems to just be starting.

16 - Attack of the Clones!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 8th August 2003

Mario comic the third!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th August 2003

Hahaha! :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 9th August 2003

Chuckle

We should put your comics up on the main page or something.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th August 2003

Yes, we definitely should...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th August 2003

Here comes another comic! ABF wakes up to realize the whole ordeal with the clone was just dream. But, wait. What's this in the basement?

17 - The Trouble With Clones

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th August 2003

why use our avatars when the characters don't really act like us?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th August 2003

Because drawing actual characters would take a long time [not to mention that I'm horrible at drawing people and lack the necessary tools to do so on my computer], and besides these are "TC Ava-Comics"!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 9th August 2003

Yeah! These are cool!
