Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 25th February 2004

Hahaha! Ah... funny stuff.

And we don't post here anymore because each comic has its own thread, silly.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 25th February 2004

The whole point of each comic having it's own thread is so that it can act as an archive and people can view all of them without having to wade through a huge thread, the whole point of putting them here is so that people can talk about the comics WITHOUT MESSING UP THE ORDER.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 25th February 2004

But if the discussion is in the comic's thread, later people will be able to find the relevant discussion easier! :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 25th February 2004

Fine, but you post in one of the earlier threads you fix the order, if not I'll simply delete your posts AND come to your house and beat you up.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 25th February 2004

If you named the thread titles to your comics properly using a constant two digit expression (e.g. 01, 02, 03, ... 25, 26, etc), then all you need to do is click on the "thread" link and the page will refresh showing the thread titles in alpha-numeric order, neatly organizing your comics.

The only problem with this is (especially at the rate GR has gone) that once 100 comics are reached, comic number 100 will be next to comic number ten. :( This is why sites like Penny-Arcade use a date system and arrange the numbers like this: 2004-02-25 for February 25, 2004. That way, a computer can easily sort the comics chronologically by actually sorting the file names alpha-numerically.

Except it displays the comics by the date of the last post and not numerically.

Pfft!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 25th February 2004

What? :hmm:

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 25th February 2004

What...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 25th February 2004

Jebus. I didn't think I'd have to paint a friggin' picture.

YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER HOW THREADS ARE DISPLAYED. It's rather easy to control. Just click the link on the top of a cloumn to indicate how you want to sort the threads. An arrow appears next to the link you clicked indicating the threads are sorted arcording to that column. You can even click on the arrow to reverse the order.

See my pictures in my next post to get a better visual idea. Take notice on how the title of my threads are sorted. In the first pic, they are out of order. In the second they are in ascending order. In the last pic, they are in descending order.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 25th February 2004

Hmmm...it'd be easier to see if the images were displayed right next to each other. I'll see if i can display the attachments as pics in this post.

I just tried it in your comic forum Great Rumbler and now I see what you're saying. That's really bizzare. It shouldn't be doing that. :confused2 But it works fine in my comic forum, anyway :P

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 26th February 2004

Okay, I didn't know what you were talking about at first. It doesn't work though. Weird. I don't know what's wrong with it. Oh well.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - geoboy - 26th February 2004

Yeah. I think I figured it out now. When it's sorted by thread title, it does it only for each individual day. It's quite handy for for regular forum browsing in a highly active forum, but it's a pain in the arse for archiving comics. :D

I just noticed that in #75 it says "There are some things money can buy" when it should probably say "can't".

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 21st October 2004

Then make some!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 2nd November 2004

Maybe I will!!

*doesn't*

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - deanna - 7th February 2005

I am good at drawing (on the computer and by hand), but I need some comic ideas...

Any good ones?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th February 2005

Make a comic about pirates in space who fight mutant cows and there's a part at the end where Jupiter explodes and then Bo Jackson flies out of the explosion and proclaims himself to be the ruler of Space. Then he fights with Semnat in climatic battle where they have to use giant robots. Put a space tunnel scene in too.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - deanna - 7th February 2005

:shake: You guys creep me out sometimes

Maybe girls just aren't cut out for comics...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th February 2005

OR you could have a world ruled by the Dinosaur Mafia [they wear dark sunglasses and ties] and they get into a huge, intergalactic battle with the Space Chicken Empire and the dinosaurs have to inlist the aid of the Globular Armada from Neptune. There's a big battle and at the end the dinosaurs eat fried chicken...it's symbolic you see. But then in a huge pile of reckage you see a chicken wing raise up and then you realize that it's really a robot and then you know that the war isn't over yet.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 7th February 2005

Lots of webcomics are drawn by girls, but perhaps not quite as insane on average as GR's idea there is... :) but it obviously depends on what you like to draw/do stories about...

Anyway, GR, would you really want someone copying your ideas? It'd be like having two of your comic, and one of its best features is its uniquenes. Yeah, that sounds good. :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 7th February 2005

Still, it would be cool if I could get someone to illustrate the ideas I have, since my artistic ability is terrible.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Weltall - 7th February 2005

Deanna: make your comic about cartoon cats who do nothing but curse and drink beer~!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 15th February 2005

Let's see some art, deanna!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - deanna - 15th February 2005

Shoot...I ain't got nothing to show you guys...

If I make comics...they are always about stickmen dying Rolleyes

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 15th February 2005

Those flash animations with the stick people fighting each other are pretty cool.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - deanna - 15th February 2005

Yeah, but I make my stickmen die in...mysterious, deranged ways...you'll see...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 15th February 2005

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - deanna - 15th February 2005

WHAT?! not gross ways...just ways other than OOO I PUNCH YOU!
