Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 3rd December 2003

I don't see you making any comics!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 13th December 2003

Well I, um... was busy? Yeah, that sounds good...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 14th December 2003

Disgust

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 14th December 2003

Convincing, wasn't I?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 14th December 2003

No.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2003

After what seems like forever, a new comic has been made! Yay!

61 - It's Education, Stupid!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 17th December 2003

Quality education for the masses?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2003

It's money well spent!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 18th December 2003

Haha, that's hilarious. There's nothing like good 'ole Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past-ish revisionist history.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 26th December 2003

Revisionist? Come on. Sure, that's now how it happened in the past NOW, but in the future that will have been being exactly what our past is!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 31st December 2003

Well, I finally got around to making another comic.

62 - Next Season on Fox

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 31st December 2003

Lol

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 31st December 2003

Not bad...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 1st January 2004

It's slightly outdated but I figured that everyone would easily recall that event. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 2nd January 2004

63 - Ringing in the New Year

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 2nd January 2004

Haha, you should make a book with all of the comics put together.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 2nd January 2004

Yeah, I'll get around to it one of these days.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 2nd January 2004

Great.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th January 2004

I made a comic the other day and I was going to post it today, but guess what? MY INTERNET WILL NOT WORK!! Gah, I hate Cherokee Telephone Service.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th January 2004

Dial-up is your friend!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th January 2004

Well, my internet is finally working again, something about DNS numbers are somesuch. Anyway, that doesn't change the fact that Cherokee Telephone Company is an evil, monopolistic corporate entity.

64 - A Slight Over-reaction

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th January 2004

The TC Militia?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th January 2004

Whoops, I accidentally put "yourselfs". Oh well.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 8th January 2004

Bang bang!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th January 2004

Makes you look like a better hick militiaman, I'd say. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th January 2004

Hick? Don't throw words like that around lightly, okay?

...

...

But yeah...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - OB1 - 9th January 2004

Lol

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th January 2004

:D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 26th January 2004

I was going to start up another storyline in my comic series but recent computer malfunctions have prevented my from making any more. But barring forgetfullness and futher computer related difficulties I should have the first one by next week.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 26th January 2004

Nice. :)

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 26th January 2004

It's going to be good too, it features the first [real] villain and the in the tradition of all things humorific he's an incompetent loser villain.

Ev1l Incorporated.

You see they trick people by replacing the "I" with a "1". Subtle.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 26th January 2004

You could replace l with |... 3V1|!!!!!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 26th January 2004

That might be too subtle though. :D

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 26th January 2004

|33t speek!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 27th January 2004

t3h |337 5pe4k w0000011!!11!!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th February 2004

Alright, I finally got my computer fixed so what do you think the first thing I did was was? Right! I made a new comic! That's very nice of me don't you think?

65 - Plan B From Outer-Space

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th February 2004

... wha?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 8th February 2004

... I don't get it... Is that a PS2 on it's side or something?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 8th February 2004

It's the Monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey! How can anyone not know that?!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th February 2004

Haven't seen that movie... and what did the Monolith do? Steal the TV?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 8th February 2004

A monolith eh? Like on Easter Island? I heard of that movie (and heard it quoted SO often on TV I FEEL like I've seen it) but never saw it. The only thing I know about it is there's an evil robot that tries to kill everyone... IN SPACE. You see, I can "not know" it because I NEVER SAW it. It's not like school requires people to watch certain movies or something to pass. Why WOULD I have watched it? If you're going to say "because it was AWESOME", then I must say I have NEVER understood the logic of such an argument. It may have been awesome, but I'd have to have SEEN it to know that! The movie was before my time, and no one ever forced me to watch it. Heard a couple referenses to it on TV, but that's it. How can I be expected to have seen it? How can I be considered in ANY negative light for not having willingly saught it out?

Oh, and no this discussion is NOT going to make me want to see it :D. I just don't need it to make my life complete. Yeesh, if I saught out EVERY piece of entertainment everyone said I just HAVE to see, I wouldn't have time to actually do something with my life.

ONE MORE thing, that's a very bland looking monolith thingy. It's just a flat black slab... Why not make it look like an Easter Island head, or a stone from stone hedge, or something like a big silver block with lots of circuits all over it leading to a big red eye in the center?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 8th February 2004

It's one of the most important classics in Sci-Fi... we even have a copy of the tape somewhere... but I've never got around to it... I heard it's boring a lot, but really should see it...

And DJ you DO know that HAL is the computer from 2001, right? And the 2001 theme is very well known and widely used...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th February 2004

Quote:Why WOULD I have watched it?

It's only one the GREATEST Sci-fi movies in existance combining the talents of Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke. Anyone who says they are a fan of Sci-fi and haven't seen 2001 are living a LIE and should be burned for their insolence!!

Quote:ONE MORE thing, that's a very bland looking monolith thingy.

The whole point is to make it mysterious and other-worldly.

Quote:I just don't need it to make my life complete.

Everyone should see it at least once.

Quote:I heard it's boring a lot

It's a slow movie, unlike Star Wars and Star Trek, which are action oriented, it's slow and deliberate and takes a realistic look at the future and the universe...and it has some really weird stuff in it, especially the parts with the monolith. A very awesome movie.

Quote:and what did the Monolith do? Steal the TV?

If you saw the movie you would understand it better, but basically it's purpose it to cause us to evolve but we didn't even notice it was there and just threw it out with the trash.

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 9th February 2004

Didn't I just explain that the argument "because it's great" is flawed?

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th February 2004

But we'd notice if the TV was missing... and how would removing it make us evolve? Make us do other things?

Oh, and I know I have no excuse since we own the movie... I'll see it sometime...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th February 2004

Quote:But we'd notice if the TV was missing...

Why do you keep mentioning the TV?

Quote:and how would removing it make us evolve? Make us do other things?

Don't try to understand it until you see the movie.

Quote:Didn't I just explain that the argument "because it's great" is flawed?

...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Dark Jaguar - 9th February 2004

Okay, you didn't read that part. Look, you can't say "You SHOULD have seen it by now BECAUSE it was so awesome" because for me to KNOW it was awesome I would have had to SEE it to begin with! If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have known it was awesome enough that I just had to have seen it by now. That's why it's flawed! Rather, you can only say I should GO see it, as in tell me TO see it, because it is so awesome. THEN I know due to word of mouth (though I always got the impression that the movie was some huge space cliche about killer robots). Saying I should have seen it before due to information I didn't even HAVE is flawed. Why would I just KNOW that?

There, NOW you should get it. I'm being too analytical!

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th February 2004

Not effective joke if it's impossible to explain without seeing that movie... that we haven't seen...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - Great Rumbler - 9th February 2004

Well, it's your own faults for not having seen it! :p

Quote:(though I always got the impression that the movie was some huge space cliche about killer robots).

No. Not in the slightest. In fact, there aren't even any robots in the movie.

Quote:Okay, you didn't read that part. Look, you can't say "You SHOULD have seen it by now BECAUSE it was so awesome" because for me to KNOW it was awesome I would have had to SEE it to begin with! Just go see it, okay? It's is, IN MY OPINION, a very good movie and IT IS MY OPINION that if you watched it you would think so too and you would, IN MY OPINION, be a better person for having seen it. But all of this is just MY OPINION, so...

Official TC Ava-Comics Thread - A Black Falcon - 9th February 2004

I know something about the movie... it definitely sounds quite good. Later HAL has become a cliche but 2001 was the first...
