I'm a bit apprehensive about downloading a Limp Bizkit song. What are the words?

What are you listening to? - The Former DMiller - 15th December 2003

Moby Dick - Led Zeppelin

What are you listening to? - Fittisize - 15th December 2003

Eh, trust me, it's a good song (which is rare for Limp Bizkit).

It goes, 'No one knows what it's like...' and just kinda builds off of that.

What are you listening to? - The Former DMiller - 15th December 2003

Yep, that's a cover.

Sumertime Blues - The Who (Ain't that a coincidence?)

John Rueben - Move
Spoken - Promise
Bleach - Get Up
Pillar - Further From Myself
Mars Ill - Breathe Slow
Last Tuesday - Retaliation
LA Symphony - Gonna Be Alright

Lots of Christmas songs
and too much else to mention.

Yay for Radio U and the most hilarious morning show ever, the R!OT. They used to record the R!OT every morning, but the link isn't working now. :(

Flaming Lips- Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

I heard this song on the radio the other day and I couldn't stop laughing. It's this song about a Japanese girl battling evil robots. Can you get any cooler than that? I don't think so! Here are some of the lyrics to the song:

Her name is Yoshimi - she's a black belt in karate
Working for the city - she has to discipline her body -
Cause she knows that it's demanding to defeat these
Evil machines - I know she can beat them -

Oh Yoshimi
They don't believe me
But you won't let those
Robots defeat me
Oh Yoshimi
They don't believe me
But you won't let those
Robots eat me

Those evil natured robots - they're programmed to
Destroy us - She's gotta be strong to fight them -
So she's taking lots of vitamins - cause she knows that
It'd be tragic if those evil robots win - I know
She can beat them -

Gamma Ray's No World Order! CD which I just got today. Mostly good stuff, but it gets a bit too trash-metal-y from time to time.

Gordon Lightfoot - Canadian Railroad Trilogy

Still the greatest, most intense acoustic guitar song ever concieved.

What are you listening to? - Fittisize - 17th February 2004

Metallica-Nothing Else Matters

I disagree, this song is the most intense acoustic guitar song ever concieved. Cool As well as the best Metallica song and one of my all-time favourites.

But I've never even heard Canadian Railroad Trilogy so I'm gonna have to hear it before I pass judgement.

What are you listening to? - Geno - 17th February 2004

Annoying hollering coming from the speakers of the nearby computers... otherwise known as rap, which several students here think is cool, somehow.

You like Nothing Else Matters? YOU RULE!!!!!!!! :D Yes, that's one of my favorites by Metallica too. In fact, it's probably my favorite, because... well, I kind of relate to that song. I try to relate in some way to every song I listen to and enjoy, but that song especially.

Keep in mind that there are two versions of it. One is about 40 seconds longer and is quite a bit more pedestrian in pace. The shorter one is the fast one. To get the full effect of the guitar, you have to keep in mind that the song is about the railroads.

If you're here right now, you'll see that I'm listening to Queen - Killer Queen.

What are you listening to? - Laser Link - 22nd April 2004

I've been listening to Five Iron Frenzy's final release, which I already kinda had. They sold it independently at shows but never in stores until tuesday. And for the real release they included an extra song, plus a live recording of their last show ever, which was in their home city of Denver. Of course I was there, and it was so cool to see all these people from around the world who went to Denver just to see FIF's last show. It was an awesome good bye to one of my favorite bands ever.

I've also been continuing the search for "real" punk music, which is quite difficult because NOBODY CAN AGREE ON THIS! But I think it is safe to say that few will disagree with my statement that One 21, The Deal, Hanover Saints, and Comeback Kid are all punk (or maybe punkcore), and not Nu Punk, or Pop Punk, or Pop, or Rock, or...

What are you listening to? - N-Man - 23rd April 2004

Doubtless "real" punk means the Sex Pistols, the Clash and so forth.

Myself:
Iced Earth - Birth of the Wicked
