What are you listening to? - Sacred Jellybean - 16th March 2003 George Carlin - You Are All Diseased My favorite George Carlin routine... he's so damned brutal and ruthless. I swear, I'm incapable of listening to him without giggling once. "This is just a series of things that are pissing me off? 'Cos I don't have pet peeves, I have major psychotic fucking hatreds, okay? And it makes the world a lot easier to sort out." Soooo damned hilarious. I love this man. :D What are you listening to? - Weltall - 17th March 2003 Better Than Ezra - Good What are you listening to? - Sacred Jellybean - 17th March 2003 The Church - Under the Milky Way Tonight What are you listening to? - Weltall - 17th March 2003 Cowboy Bebop - Yo Pumpkin Head What are you listening to? - LukeIsTerrified - 17th March 2003 Quote:Originally posted by Private Hudson I thought I had replied to this already, but apparently I missed it. It's a good thing someone else finally posted in the thread or it would have gone unanswered forever! So anyway. I thought it was funny that you said they don't tell anyone what to believe, then immediately point out that all of their songs are "overwhelmingly anti-religion, anti-governmental, anti-popular culture, anti-scientology, etc." -- in other words, all of their beliefs. If we're arguing semantics, you could say that they don't TELL people to believe what they do, and they're just presenting it for people to accept or reject. But, in any case, we can agree to disagree when it comes to Tool. And I'm still not sure if that line about respecting my knowledge of music was sarcastic or not. Now listening to: Eminem - My Dad's Gone Crazy (HIP-HOP 3:16 OH HELL YEAH!) What are you listening to? - WhiteFleck - 17th March 2003 Relient K - Gibberish What are you listening to? - Dark Jaguar - 17th March 2003 Does anyone else see the irony in the concept of TELLING people to think for themselves? Am I the only one who sees something logically wrong with such a concept? If I am, it's because you are ordering someone to not be ordered around. What are you listening to? - Laser Link - 17th March 2003 Arg wu sentafinticate nar dunderford. Bida menti kostikated interserd. I am listening to rain falling- hoping it will turn into snow and we'll get the gigantic snow storm they say we will. But, in any case, we can agree to disagree when it comes to Tool. I merely meant that they're trying to inspire people to question what they've been told, rather than accept it. To think for yourself. They aren't anti-anything per se, poor choice of words. Quote:And I'm still not sure if that line about respecting my knowledge of music was sarcastic or not. No sarcasm. What are you listening to? - LukeIsTerrified - 19th March 2003 Fair enough. CDs I've been listening to lately (since one song is just not worth posting): Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow: Incredible. I can't stop listening to it. If it wasn't for Wilco and Interpol, this would have been my clear-cut favourite album of 2002. Nas - Illmatic: I love "N.Y. State of Mind" but I'm still not sure if this album is the classic everyone thinks it is. Broken Social Scene - You Forgot it in People: Fantastic indie rock. And they're Canadian! Eminem - The Eminem Show: It's GOOD though. Talib Kweli - Quality: "Put it in the Air" and "Rush" have some of the best hooks I've heard in ANY song, let alone a hip-hop song. The Beatles - Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Been on a bit of a Beatles kick lately too, which makes an odd combination with the hip-hop. "Octopus's Garden" has to be one of the most perfect pop songs ever recorded. What are you listening to? - WhiteFleck - 19th March 2003 Relient K - Jefferson Aero Plane. My favorite song on their blue album. What are you listening to? - Laser Link - 19th March 2003 Jefferson Aero Plane might be my favorite song 2 Lefts now too. It gets better every time, and it's much better than the demo version on their Creepy EP. Is your cd pink as well? What are you listening to? - Fittisize - 19th March 2003 Hell Song by Sum 41 What are you listening to? - Weltall - 19th March 2003 World on Tour - Light of Day What are you listening to? - OB1 - 20th March 2003 In the Mood for Love soundtrack- Yumeji's Theme What are you listening to? - WhiteFleck - 20th March 2003 Yes yes, pink with seagulls. What are you listening to? - Laser Link - 20th March 2003 I was wondering if all the cds were colored different, but it looks like they are all pink. And I must go against my previous statement. While Jefferson Aero Plane is a fantastic song, the amazing combo-medly-thing of College Kids/Trademark/Hoopes I Did It Again beats all. Especially when the volume is at obscenely high levels. :D I am curently listening to Until my Breathe Runs Dry by John Egan and theMill band What are you listening to? - Weltall - 20th March 2003 dc Talk - Jesus Freak What are you listening to? - Laser Link - 20th March 2003 YES! Wonderful album. Man, that woman is kinda small but she's got a huge voice. It's amazing. She's also quite beautiful. What are you listening to? - Dark Lord Neo - 29th March 2003 Quote:Originally posted by Weltall BUt Paris is in France shouldn't you be boycotting it What are you listening to? - N-Man - 29th March 2003 Grateful Dead - Touch of Grey What are you listening to? - Weltall - 29th March 2003 Quote:Originally posted by Dark Lord Neo No, because while the concert was in Paris, Diana Krall isn't French. The Cowards aren't making a penny off of album sales. What are you listening to? - Dark Lord Neo - 30th March 2003 I like the people who are boycotting French's mustard even though it's made in the US and owned by a British Company What are you listening to? - OB1 - 30th March 2003 Or people that buy French products just to throw them away. They did a bit on that on The Daily Show. What are you listening to? - Dark Lord Neo - 30th March 2003 It makes no sense to boycott another countries products just because they don't follow your foreign policy. Maybe I should not buy American products because they have a different foreign policy than my country Luckily Windwaker is distributed by NOC What are you listening to? - Fittisize - 31st March 2003 I'm listening to the rock version of Outkasts's "Bombs Over Baghdad" What are you listening to? - Weltall - 31st March 2003 Quote:Originally posted by Dark Lord Neo Why doesn't it make sense? That's our way of showing disagreement with their cowardice. They actively opposed us, it wasn't quite as simple as not agreeing. They were against us, tried to humiliate us. They deserve a boycott, and I hope their economy crashes. Anyway, let's derail that train of thought and keep it to music, yes?
