I'd only get them on sale for cheap ($5 or less), and even then I'll probably wait because those specs they want seem high for such an old game, but still, it's nice to see the game finally come to PC. The sequels apparently will follow by early 2015. Japanese developers need to release more PC versions of their games, as always, so it's always good to see more come over to PC.

Um, this really isn't a good representation of the series or even the genre. It's a trilogy that Squeenix made because they tripled down on a game that didn't do particularly well for them to begin with. It's a "paint by numbers" Final Fantasy done "tube quest" style, where they forgot that having a SINGLE emotion doesn't count as having an actual personality (I'm looking at you Lightning, Cloud actually LAUGHED once in a while! It's okay!).

So, okay PC versions are coming along. I suppose that's a pretty big deal for those who aren't willing to buy every single console. It makes sense, as the upcoming generation isn't selling so well in Japan, but they still own computers there. As "home theater" setups become more common for PC players, and games get more and more stable and more and more stable OSes, it'll make more and more sense to just make the PC the "console" of choice in the future. Even the controllers are getting better, even if that means Microsoft basically "owns" controller input on the PC. Plenty of PC games these days support 360 controllers (and by extension XBox One controllers now), but far fewer bother supporting any controllers OUTSIDE of that very specific one, mainly because Microsoft is using a very proprietary DirectX enabled input method for those controllers that doesn't support any other PC gamepads (which all end up using the older standard). Valve is attempting to break that with their weird controller, but it's becoming clear that those "touch zones" just aren't cutting it, as they add control sticks to the thing.

So apparently, the port is really lazy. There are like no graphics options, and you can't even change the resolution! So, a fan patch has started fixing those problems, as also had to be done with the PC version of Dark Souls. http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=618
