fourth & fifth amendments 1791-2012 R.I.P - Dark Jaguar - 4th January 2012

Obama is a footstool. Oh he signed it but he signed it with great regret. So yeah, we can all take comfort in the fact that he SIGHED when he signed. Grow a back bone already.

The only solace to be found is that this bill is unconstitutional and EVERYONE has legal standing so anyone can bring it to court.

Fuck Obama. That the federal government could be authorized to detain anyone indefinitely without trial for any reason (or any reason they could twist around show "supporting terrorism" or whatever the fuck) is inexcusable. It doesn't matter that they have been sorta doing this already overseas, or that the chance of it happening to an ordinary law-abiding American citizen is unlikely, it's an awful idea and no one should support it.

Of course, it's awful to the point where there's probably context behind it that helps explain things. It's easier to believe that than to believe that so many cogressmen have lost their minds and are willing to sell out a basic fundamental constitutional principle like that. I read a New York Times article on it that shed a bit of light, and an op-ed piece in the same paper that criticized the decision, but it's hard to find anything both substantive and frightening.

Don't know, I have to set aside time to read more and find more information, but so far

"No sir. I don't like it."

This bill might not be quite as bad as SOPA and its Senate equivalent, but yeah, it's really bad, and definitely doesn't say much good about Obama that he actually signed it...

If Obama gets re-elected it will only be due to the greater mediocrity of the opposing candidate. No matter which country you hail from, chances are that you will have nothing but a stack of piss maggots to pick from every election year.
